public data cultures is out today on
@politybooks ! 📗🎊 in a nutshell.. 🐿️.. it nurtures critical and creative engagements with public data as cultural material, medium of participation and as site of transnational politics. glad to see it finally out in the world! 🦔🌌💜
What are Korean platforms? What are their histories? How do they compare to platforms elsewhere? How can we do research with and about them?
k-platforms supports collaborative research on South Korean digital media landscapes and how they are being shaped by the development of apps, platforms and AI.
As part of this project we will develop research tools and methods for investigating the cultures, infrastructures, dynamics, logics and economies of South Korea platforms and online spaces.
k-platforms is a collaboration between researchers from Seoul National University, the Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST) and King’s College London @kingsartshums@centrefordigitalculture@kingsddh - including Liliana Bounegru @lbounegr , Jonathan W. Y. Gray @jwyg , Chamee Yang @donnaland_77 , June Jeon and more. ✨
look forward to being back in Seoul in May/June to catch up with friends and colleagues 🌃💜
