This week we’re excited to launch the Offset Carbon Credit Marketplace ✨🌏✨ This is a first-of-its-kind platform turning industrial sabotage and direct action into premium carbon credits. Offset your emissions — buy a credit and the proceeds are donated directly back to the activists behind the actions. 🔗 Browse the marketplace or read more about the project — link in bio. The Offset Marketplace launches alongside our exhibition How to Get to Zero, on view @pioneerworks until December — where you can see our gorgeous carbon credit certificates in person. Impress your employees, students, or friends with these giclée prints on archival paper rag, perfect for a corporate lobby, office, or living room. For larger prints, please reach out to us directly. #CarbonOffsets #ClimateAction #DirectAction #EnvironmentalJustice #NewEconomy #Innovation #OffsetLab #ClimateCredit #RadicalChange #FightForTheFuture #environmentfriendlyproducts

“How To Get To Zero” is a new two-person exhibition from Sam Lavigne and Tega Brain at @pioneerworks . Open now until December 13th. The show includes 10 works from the last decade of our solo and collective practices, and marks the launch of “Offset,” our unconventional carbon credit marketplace (more on that soon). Thank you to @pioneerworks , our curators @gabriel_florenz and @vwchui , exhibition designer @diogopassarinhostudio and all the people that helped make this possible. The Offset project is supported by a @creative_capital award. All photos by Dan Bradica Studio.

Last year @tegabrain and I contributed an essay (“A Very Brief Survey of AI Companies”) to the book “Are You a Software Update”. As part of our research, we scraped the names, descriptions, and funding totals of around 17,000 “AI” companies from crunchbase. Here’s a small sample of what we found. You can explore this sad, searchable archive for yourself at aicompanies.labr.io

We hope you’ll join us on Wednesday, May 6, 7:30–9:30 PM at the Wythe Hotel (@wythehotel ) to celebrate the launch of Nude Ascending a Staircase by Sam Lavigne (@samlavigne ) and Georgica Pettus (@georgica ), the sixth issue of the collaborative artist book series prompt: (@promptcolon ). Drawn from an archive of text prompts scraped from the generative AI platform Civitai, the project traces the strange gap between desire and its algorithmic rendering. These inputs—part smut, part source code—pair with images that never fully resolve, suspended as shifting abstractions: beige noise, kaleidoscopic forms, orificial buds, floating protrusions. The result is an open-ended vision of bodies in the process of becoming. The evening will feature a reading by the artists, followed by a conversation on their collaboration moderated by prompt: publishers Mira Dayal (@miradayal ) and Nicole Kaack (@kaackattack ). The publication is now available for preorder! If you’d like to pick up your copy at the event, use code PICKUP on prompt:’s website to waive shipping. RSVP at the link in the @promptcolon bio 🗓 Wednesday, May 6, 7:30–9:30 PM 📍 80 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn 🍸 Complimentary drinks Many thanks to Alessandra Gómez (@alessandrrraaa ) for hosting us as curator of the Wythe Hotel Art Program! ⭐️

Join Artwrld and Rhizome this Friday April 17th for a conversation with Artist and Educator Sam Lavigne! Sam Lavigne makes work that takes computational infrastructure at its word. Across projects spanning machine learning datasets, bail funds, browser extensions, and carbon credit markets, he applies the logic of systems back to themselves — revealing what they were built to conceal and redirecting what they were built to extract. One of the sharpest practices working at the intersection of art, tech, and political economy right now. RSVP through the link in our bio! @samlavigne@rhizomedotorg Images 1,3,4&9: Training Poses (2018) Images 2,7&8: Offsett (2025), in collaboration with @tegabrain Image 5: Bail Bloc (2017), in collaboration with @prismspecs @new__trick @_frnsys JB Rubinovitz @rachelrosenfelt @cambridge_analytica @bikini_photoz and Lou Cornum Image 6: Slow LLM (2026) #Artwrld #Rhizome #SamLavigne

Is information scarce, or is it abundant? What power dynamics emerge from informational asymmetries? How is data collection being used for repressive ends? How could data collection be leveraged for liberatory, poetic, or critical ends? How can artists make use of techniques deployed by private investigators? In this 2-day workshop, students will learn how to find what or who they are looking for on the web. The class is a collaboration between Maura Brewer, an artist and investigator whose research-based videos explore the relationship between art, money and crime, and Sam Lavigne, an artist and programmer who employs automated data collection techniques to explore how power operates on the internet.
