Last year @tegabrain and I contributed an essay (“A Very Brief Survey of AI Companies”) to the book “Are You a Software Update”. As part of our research, we scraped the names, descriptions, and funding totals of around 17,000 “AI” companies from crunchbase. Here’s a small sample of what we found.
