Very pleasantly surprised to see one of my shots for @wwf_uk was used as the cover image for the last episode of Wild Isles, narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
It features Dr Jenny Oates snorkelling amongst a lush meadow of Seagrass in Porthdinllaen, north Wales during seed picking field work with @projectseagrass in 2019 at the beginning of their Seagrass Ocean Rescue Project.
This episode of wild isles is about stories of the people who are working hard to restore biodiversity to the British Isles.
“Britain is globally important for wildlife, but it is also one of the most nature depleted countries in the world. Restoring nature can have far-reaching benefits for our wild isles and for ourselves. In this programme we meet the inspirational people trying to make a difference and some of the wildlife they are trying to protect.” - BBC
What I have already seen of the series has been amazing and so exciting to see the wildlife of our beautiful country captured in such incredible detail with some rarely witnessed behaviour.
Although I had nothing to do with the filming myself it’s been wonderful to see lots of friends, colleagues and acquaintances in the credits and involved in the making.
Well done to all involved, outstanding work 👏🏼

BBC1, Tuesday 23rd September at 7pm on The One Show.
It was great to shoot this short film about the Octopus bloom for Brian Leith Productions @blpdocs .
Presented by the awesome @lizziedalywild and featuring my good friend, Dive Instructor David Roberts. As well as an awesome crew behind the scenes.
We were really up against it for this shoot and had to overcome a lot of challenges but succeeded in the end due an awesome, dedicated team!
I hope everyone enjoys it!
Underwater shoots involve a large, experienced crew with specialised skill sets, so a big thanks to everyone involved. It was great to work with some awesome people whose work I’ve admired over the last few years and also meet and work with some great new people too.

A bit of freshwater work - I Spent the other afternoon with toad tadpoles, watching them go about their tiny lives.
We almost always see them from above — a dark wriggling mass just beneath the surface, easy to glance at and move on from. But drop down to their level and everything changes. Suddenly you’re inside the silence, watching them drift and pulse through the water with a quiet purpose that feels almost meditative - It’s a completely different world.
I’d been looking for a good location to shoot tadpoles for a good few years but eventually found an amazing spot here - What makes this location truly special is that you can actually dive here — slipping beneath the surface and finding yourself completely surrounded by them. Hundreds of tiny lives moving through the water in every direction, utterly unbothered by your presence. A magical experience.
Hoping to head back to do some video work here soon.

Great to have a feature article in the latest issue of @divemag covering the Octopus Bloom in the south of England.
Thanks to @sean.m.dixon who was my buddy for a couple of the dives and in the shots. To @dbarriosoneill for the interview and biological expertise and to Jonny Pascoe of Mullion Harbour for his interview and fishing experience.

An amazing underwater habitat found around our coastlines. These marine plants form dense meadows that provide shelter for many creatures.

Beneath the waters of South Cornwall lies one of our rarest habitats — and most people don’t even know it exists.
Maerl beds, or “Celtic coral”, are vibrant pink beds of slow-growing, hard, coral-like seaweed. They hold crucial carbon stores, form complex habitats supporting extraordinary biodiversity, and act as vital nurseries for marine life — like the scallop, velvet swimmer crab and Nursehound shark in these images.
Scientists describe them as irreplaceable — even a single anchor drop can cause damage that takes decades to undo.

Just beneath the surface, kelp forests are quietly doing some of the ocean’s most important work - providing shelter for wildlife, and sequestering carbon. One of the most biodiverse habitats on the planet.

Aerial footage from the mouth of the River Otter at Budleigh in Devon. A beautiful spot rich in biodiversity, with a mix of tidal mudflats, salt marsh, reed beds and fresh water grazing marshes it’s a nationally important site for wildlife.

Happy Rewilding Day! And a huge shout out to all the amazing individuals and organisations working hard to protect and restore our world for future generations!
Flick left for some of the heroes and projects I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years - my absolute favorite kind of work is capturing the stories of people on the frontline of conservation!

Happy to have a new photography exhibition in collaboration with @padstowlobster now showing @cornwall_museum in Truro until 5th May.
I’ve been capturing the work of The National Lobster Hatchery over the last 7 years and created a detailed photostory that documents each stage of their amazing work along with lobster fishing practices and conservation measures.
Great to have this story on show and a huge thanks to Nicola O’Donnell and @padstowlobster for making it possible. 🦞

A collage of footage from the beautiful Salt marsh in the upper reaches of the Fal estuary in South Cornwall.
These winding waterways flood and drain with the tides, creating an ever-shifting natural tapestry of intricate patterns. At high tide silvery ribbons cut through the green vegetation. At low tide, sparkling mudbanks are revealed, where wading birds probe for worms and crustaceans in the nutrient rich sediments.
Salt marsh is highly productive at sequestering and storing carbon and provides a critical food source for migratory and resident birds. These ecosystems are rare and threatened in the UK and more needs to be done to preserve them for the future.
