It was fantastic to see so many of you at our recent Creative Mixer at Hall for Cornwall. The evening brought together writers, directors, producers and other creatives from across the region to connect, share ideas and spark new collaborations. The room was full of energy for Cornwall’s growing film and TV sector, from first introductions to in-depth conversations. Whether you came to meet new collaborators, discuss projects, or catch up with familiar faces, it was a great reminder of the strength of our creative community. Council Filming Permits Update - Changes from 1 April 2026 If you’re filming in Cornwall, please take note. The Cornwall Council Film App system is changing how payments work and updating prices: - Upfront Payments: Permit fees will now be settled at the point of application via a secure credit/debit card portal, helping to speed up processing - Simpler Fee Structure: We are simplifying our current pricing, making it easier to navigate, and aligning with broader market standards across the South West and wider UK. Independent British feature ‘Edge of Summer’, directed by Lucy Cohen, returns to Cornwall this spring for a special cinema tour, with exclusive director Q&As and selected cast appearances. Set on the Cornish coast in 1991, this haunting coming of age drama explores first love, grief, and the moment childhood innocence begins to fade. Funded by BBC Films and BFI and supported by Screen Cornwall from late development into early pre-production, the film shot entirely on location in Cornwall with significant spend in region and opportunities for crew.
