What’s been your favourite thing this Spring? 🌱 💚 Is it the sight of everything bursting into bloom, the carpets of bluebells, or our wonderful wildlife that makes this season so special to you? We’d love you to share your favourite natural spectacle with us, by filming yourself talking about it. If you’d like to get involved, here’s what you need to do... • Film yourself outdoors somewhere special to you, the prettier, the better! • Film it on your phone in landscape, not portrait (so holding your phone on its side) • Keep it short and sweet, no more than 1 minute in total • If possible, any extra shots of the thing you are talking about (also filmed in landscape) • The most important thing is that we see and hear you clearly • And then just send us over your videos via the link in our bio We can’t wait to see and hear what spring means to you - and will see you soon for Springwatch 2026! 🌿 😍 ✨

We’ve got some news that will have you dancing for joy... Springwatch 2026 is just around the corner! 🌿 😍 ✨ We’ll be back in Northern Ireland - this time coming to you live from the @nationaltrust Crom Estate. It’s a place where ancient woodlands, wetlands, open parkland, and freshwater habitats meet, creating an extraordinary haven for wildlife of all shapes and sizes - and setting the perfect stage for the dramas of spring to unfold... 🪶 🐛 🦊 @chrisgpackham2 , @strachan.michaela and @hannahstitfall will all be based at Crom, while @iolo.williams.007 makes his way across the UK from the Knepp Estate, to London, to Bempton Cliffs. And of course, our exploration of the season won’t stop there... We’ll be catching up with passionate people and unfolding stories across the country, and please keep sharing your sightings from your local patches with us - check out our recent video from @jabaddams for more on that! So come and join the action on @bbctwo and @bbciplayer at 8pm, Monday to Thursday, from 25th May to 11th June. And keep across all the action on our live wildlife streams, which will be running every day during that period. It’s going to be a great one! We can’t wait to see you all again very soon! 🌱 💚 🎥 Andrew Morkot

What’s could be more majestic than a goshawk feeding as the snow falls around it? 🌨️ ❄️ These top woodland predators hunt at high speed, weaving between the trees in pursuit of their prey. They are very secretive and hard to see - which makes this footage from David Main even more special! 🎥 David Main #Winterwatch ❄️

Just look at that irredescent sheen on this starling’s feathers! 🪶 🤩 Starlings are some of our noisiest neighbours - but there’s a lot to love about their chatty and cheeky nature. They’re often spotted around our towns and cities, and their mesmerising murmurations have to be one of the spectacles of the season! #Winterwatch ❄️

Who else thinks that our garden birds look even more stunning against a snowy backdrop? 😍 🤩 There’s something about the muted whites of this wintry scene that really make their colours pop - and what a treat to see them in such detail! #Winterwatch ❄️

Tawny owl VS pine marten 🤯😍 You never know what’s happening under the cover of darkness! Check out this incredible behaviour clip taken by one of our viewers Mike Turtle of a tawny owl dive bombing a pine marten! Clearly the tawny owl did not want it around... Incredible! 🎥 Mike Turtle #Winterwatch ❄️

An incredible clip captured here by one of our viewers, Michael Batley, of two red foxes fighting 🦊🤩 Winter is peak red fox breeding season which causes a lot more interaction, fighting and aggression with one another over food, territories and mates! 🎥 Michael Batley #Winterwatch ❄️

Wow!! What a find! 🤩 Check out this video of a mole out and about! 🐾 Spending the majority of their lives underground (around 99% of the time!) it is very rare to spot a mole on the surface, so this is an incredible find! One of our viewers Shaun Stirling who filmed this said, “I stumbled across this little fellow whilst walking through dunes on the Northumberland coast. As you can see he seemed completely unaware of my presence.” 🎥 Shaun Stirling #Winterwatch ❄️

What a wonderful video of an otter! 🦦🤩 Otters will often rub themselves on the ground or on low branches like this to help dry off their fur, remove parasites, scent mark or simply to have a scratch! We adore this video sent in to us form Mary Hughes! 😍 What a moment to capture on camera! 🎥 Mary Hughes #Winterwatch ❄️
