Seattle has one of the most dense XR scenes in the world and XR Connect brought us together this week for demos, drinks, and great conversation. Thank you to Jenna Villa and Sirius Gu for organizing and @collectiveseattle for hosting. Anyone still have one of these “i < 3 video art” t-shirts lying around? And, do you know where they’re from???👇🏼 These t shirts were for a kickstarter where we raised $5k to tour the #interstitialtheatre mobile screen to art walks across Seattle. That same year we opened a 17,000 sq ft gallery in Belltown. It was part of @shunpikearts Storefronts & Artist Residencies program circa 2013 >> 3 months free rent, no utility bills, and our first time buying commercial liability insurance. The same night we opened the gallery in Belltown, Kira opened her first art fair—the short lived #affordableartfairseattle. She went to both opening events after working an 18 hr day the night before. All three of us were in our twenties at this time, doing the art world hustle. None of us have since called it quits. This project was one of many that helped build our careers in the industry here in Seattle and abroad. Best guess… Who are we?

WOW! What an insanely incredible night we had last night with our partners at @futureartsco !!! 🎨 ROBOT ART JUST DROPPED 🤖 A sneak peak of our Solarpunk Robot Canvases that we're featuring at DINNER WITH ROBOTS. @renhollyaster is constructing multiple miniature tunnels with @visionsofexcess that can only be accessed by adopting a robot during the event and driving it through to view 300 tiny canvases of robot art by amazing local artists! They're building an obstacle course that’ll make your Roomba rethink its life choices. Get ready for The Grand Circuit Robot Race, where creativity clashes with code, and only the most agile micro-machine will take the checkered flag! This is just a sneak peak at the obstacle course being built by Seattle Design Nerds, a group specializing in public interest pop-up art installations using diverse media and fabrication techniques such as painter’s plastic bubbles, CNC’d etch-a-sketches, found object lanterns, guerrilla projection mapping, spandex mazes, & conduit structures. Their work has appeared at SXSW, Redmond Lights, Lusio Light, Olympic Sculpture Park, Bumbershoot, the Seattle Art Museum, & more.
