Last week, we welcomed back alum Patrick Ascolese for a talk and Q&A on breaking into the gaming industry, AR/VR, and building meaningful user experiences. Students had a chance to demo his new VR dance game, Trip the Light.
Patrick shared his own nonlinear journey, from studying engineering at UMass (while also involved in the campus music scene) to spending nearly a decade at Microsoft working on Xbox, and eventually founding his own game studio, Dark Arts Software.
His message to students: follow your curiosity. Your interests don’t have to fit into one box.
