“We created the single biggest piece of temporary land art in Arizona history to make this music video for the band A R I Z O N A. We built the land art as a film set — sculpting hundreds of pyramids out of sand inside of a dry riverbed, in front of giant red rock formations. We needed a camera with a sensor that could capture the beauty of that first-of-its-kind outdoor environment, which is why we shot with ALEXA Minis. I wanted a small camera powerful enough to capture something colossal. We paired our two ALEXA Minis with different camera movement platforms that gave a us the ability to capture a range of shots without fear of crushing the pyramids. In Navajo Nation, one of the world’s best land artists teams up with the band A R I Z O N A to create one of the biggest pieces of land art in Arizona history. Directed by SXSW winner Owen Brown, this cinematic musical experience begins in a dry riverbed amidst 300 foot wide art and ends with a spectacle of light unlike anything captured on film before.
