DAY TO ĐÂY: Built around “ĐÂY (Here)”, the identity BaseSGN created for the @agi_open 2025 conference takes its cues from HCMC as it is lived. Lightboxes glowing into the night, banners stacked and overlapping, typography bending and shifting in real time. From this, a visual language emerges. Dense. Vibrant. Uncontained. Carried across objects, surfaces, and streets, the system extended into a full range of merchandise produced locally. Pieces that hold the same energy. Immediate, tactile, and rooted in place. Grounded and chaotic. Here and now. AGI Open 2025 took place in Vietnam this past November, marking AGI’s first gathering in SE Asia. HERE AND NOW: An identity that holds its ground in Vietnam. For the first time in Southeast Asia, @agi_open landed in Ho Chi Minh City this past November — hosted by BaseSGN Partners and @agigraphic members @joshuabreidenbach and @ca_deleo , and our Saigon team. “ĐÂY (Here)” set the tone. The system draws its energy from the streets. Bold, layered, alive rooted in place and time. A visual language that moves with the city and lives in the moment. Here and now. Developed across every touchpoint, from city-wide presence to the smallest details, the identity unfolded as a complete experience. THE OTHER SIDE OF NOW: At @zeitzmocaa , @tuan.andrew.nguyen ’s solo exhibition traced the entanglements of colonization and war across Vietnam, Senegal, and Morocco through film and sculpture. The work brings forward voices once sidelined, reframing memory as collective, fragile, and still in motion. BaseSGN created the exhibition identity and designed the accompanying publication, extending the conversation beyond the exhibition. The 144-page volume brings together essays in dialogue with the projected films. Base_test_0063: ‘Draw the Space’ What if your input didn’t just affect the video, it became the geometry? We tested an interactive 3D video environment where drawing and writing directly displace the surface that video lives on, no effects applied on top. The mark itself carves the form, in real time. Upload your own videos, play with depth and mesh layers, add effects. Fluidity of interaction and visual variety are the benchmarks. Both held up. Technology used: Typescript, Three.js(WebGPU), TSL. YIELD STRENGTH: Meet Protocol, a programmatic typeface developed by @counter__forms and @base_design Melbourne for Yield Strength, the 19th Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art at @agsa.adelaide curated by @elliebuttrose and running until June 8, 2026. Its forms emerge from generative software driven by live data in Adelaide: temperature, wind speed, surface pressure, and the S&P 500, a global barometer of financial markets. Unstable and layered, Protocol defies singularity. Throughout the Biennial, it flexes, frays, and records its own passage through time, until its programmed demise: bent, fragmented, and exhausted.
