I’m very pleased to share my most recent commission — the Dromen Lamp with custom switch and dimmer. Dromen [droːmə(n)] meaning ‘to dream explores forms which subtly shift from soft to hard, and the palette from light to dark and pays homage to Studio Tops’ ongoing exploration of materiality and functionality. The Dromen Lamp is a fibreglass form cast with loose cane embedded in the substrate, giving the surface texture and allowing light to pass through with variation across the panel. The faceted front face is bevelled at the edges, directing the glow inward and forward. Available in raw (natural) or blackened fibreglass. Images by @georgiasmedley / @objectmassive ◼️

Issue No. 20 of @thelocalproject is out now, and I’m very honoured to be featured. There’s so much that goes into making Studio Tops what it is — the hours of fabrication, the building of relationships, the ideation that happens long before anything takes physical form, and I’m always so grateful when that work is recognised. As DONE/UNDONE drew to a close this weekend, I’ve been reflecting on the role @craftvictoria plays in shaping, identifying and amplifying the craft and design community in Melbourne and also across Australia. It’s a space that backs experimentation, material enquiry and creates room for meaningful work to exist. Very grateful to have been part of this exhibition. @craftvictoria @piercarthew @joseph_gardner
