@newvolumes Élan Console designed by @_jordanfleming is defined by wandering curves, subtle asymmetry, and twisting, undulating forms. Each piece appears to have been shaped by unseen forces, its contours evolving and unfolding through space. Élan captures movement suspended in frozen stillness, revealing terracotta’s strength, warmth, and quiet fluidity.
Jordan was the Winner of the Product Design category at the @emergingdesignerawards 2024. The jury awarded Jordan for her unique approach to materials and form, and her distinct design aesthetic – already clearly established within her emerging product design practice.

THE COMPANY WE KEEP | @_jordanfleming finds the light | words by @karen.gif | photography and video by @robyndaly_@_assignmnt
This month, The Company We Keep features designer Jordan Fleming, whose work explores the intersection of materiality, form and light. Working from a shared studio in Melbourne’s Northcote, Fleming’s practice is shaped by collaboration, experimentation and a deeply hands-on approach to making.
With a background spanning film, interiors and object design, her journey reflects a non-linear but instinctive path—one driven by curiosity, technical dexterity and a sculptural sensibility. Through pliable forms and softly illuminated objects, Fleming continues to build a distinctive visual language that challenges how we experience space, craft and contemporary design.

Introducing Jordan Fleming.
Jordan Fleming brings idiosyncratic, experimental sculptural works that convey presence and quiet, building responsive energy within space.
Part of Tactile Dialogues: Fragments of Matter, her work sits in the space between utility and ornament, shaping objects that feel intuitive, material-led, and quietly charged.
