“ This project was for Platform LDN's brief, themed;
Connectivity.
'The idea of this project is to highlight the continuous connection between us, the Latin American diaspora (people that have left their country of origin) living in the UK and back home, with the mother land, 'La Patria'.
How despite our distance, we remain and will always remain deeply connected to our roots, our indigenous roots.'
This project is for the Latin community, mi gente, in London, one that is under-represented in a city and country where our presence is growing and our contribution is continuous. Where our ethnicity is invisible and our tick box is 'Other' on national forms.
This is for you, this is about representation, about presence, making ourselves be seen, heard, felt! I'd love to shoot more of this; capturing elements of our culture, our beauty, our people. At the moment there's so many incredible artists from our community that I would love to work with, so if you're a fellow Latinx & you'd like to collaborate, let's do it! “ -
