This project was born from a spirit of provocation: from the hopes that people would question why I made a modernized statue of liberty, why we brought it to the American Embassy, and what their feelings about that may be. The statue’s symbology is bold, contradictory, and playful. Bringing it to the Embassy and transporting it on the Tube sparked conversations with the public, with the Embassy’s landscape designers, and with other artists. I hope the performance can spark conversation with you as well.It was a pleasure working with Aja to create this short film.
