Over the past 10 weeks, @photofusionuk has partnered with @irmolayf and @irmolondon to run a workshop series for young people, exploring the theme of Healthy Relationships. The Creator’s Studio’s very own @erinhamblh and @calling4camilaa , mentored by @_dwiafe , designed and delivered workshops that brought together young people from Latin American backgrounds to explore everything from sewing and zine-making to vinyl DJing, and more.   Each week, the group experimented with new creative techniques, from Polaroid portraits and collage to darkroom printing and set design. They used photography not just as a skill but as a tool for communication, trust-building, and storytelling.   What began as a creative project soon evolved into something much deeper. The workshops became a safe space where young people could open up, collaborate, and explore their identities through shared curiosity and creativity.   These behind-the-scenes moments capture the energy, growth, and connection that shaped the workshops, serving as a reminder of how creativity can bring people together, boost confidence, and inspire new ways of seeing the world.   Special thanks to:

Fabi of @reynatropical for @hoe.zine IN THE HOUSEEEE! Blessed to catch Fabi live in London! Honestly, I felt like I was floating—surrounded by nature, pure love, and a profound sense of empowerment. Fabi’s music is more than sound; it celebrates queer love and the Afro-Mexican and Indigenous diaspora, creating a powerful space to uplift and decolonise mentalities. In times of uncertainty, their art resonates deeply, inviting us to explore the intersections of identity and belonging. Captured the talented @n1ghtshade__ 🌹 Vittor is a Peruvian-British multidisciplinary artist and community gardener based in South London. ‘I draw as a way to digest experiences, observations, stories, ecology and emotion. In these times, apocalyptic imagery is everywhere, yet there is also a profound curiosity about the origins of life and a yearning to create new realities—worlds that exist above, beyond, and within our own. I am interested in capturing the recurring cycles of nature, the journey of life, destruction and regeneration. Often inspired by mitología andina, social justice, plant studies, poetry and music, I find my work is a way for me to speak and share my ideas of identity and what it means to feel at home in times of uncertainty.’ Photography: @calling4camilaa Shoot day set with @fruiiitman

Capturing beautiful @music.issa 🌞 -Issa is a singer/songwriter from London, Born to a Colombian mother who leads a Colombian folk dance group, Issa was immersed in the vibrant sounds and rhythms of Latin American music from a young age. This cultural backdrop has shaped her musical journey, leading her to collaborate with numerous Latin American artists and explore genres ranging from Cumbia to Joropo. Currently focused on her solo projects, Issa aims to blend these Latin influences with her passion for neo-soul and RnB. Her music is intimate and reflective, touching on themes of love, sexuality, self-care, and social consciousness. Through her soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, Issa seeks to create a space where diverse influences harmonise, offering a unique and personal musical experience <3 Art Direction: @calling4camilaa @music.issa Photography: @calling4camilaa Stylist: @sophialamena Hair: @calling4camilaa Set Design: @l0vebug69 @calling4camilaa Shoot assistant: @l0vebug69 Studio: @live.wire.creative.studios #MusicPhotography #PortraitPhotography #CreativePhotoshoot #BritishLatina #NeoSoulVibes #RnBMusic #MusicArtist #OnSet #FashionStylist #StyledBy

I had to take this out of the archive because it means a lot to me; it shouldn’t just be kept hidden on my hard drive. This project was curated 2-3 years ago when I, along with many other Latin Americans, questioned why we were not recognised on the British Census. Denying our representation and pushing us into invisibility by boxing us in as “other” is ruuuddeeee. We are clearly here, so I went on a mission around London and approached people who identified as Latin American for a photo. The purpose was to show that we evidently exist in London, and far from being an ‘other,’ we are very much a part of London, adding to its cultural melting pot. Why does this project mean so much to me? I was nervous and anxious as hell to do this, but it had to be done. First, I had my own anxieties—the number of times I’ve been told I don’t look or act “Colombian” made me start questioning my identity. I would look in the mirror and think, “I know I’m Colombian, but what do I look like then?” (There’s a lot to unpack there, but that’s for another time.) Second, while I can speak and write in Spanish, I have a strong South London accent and lingo. What can I do? 🤷🏻‍♀️ But the main anxiety was going up to people on the streets to start a conversation and ask if I could take their picture. However, in reality, I met so many beautiful people, and I felt like I was at home. I felt that I belonged, and it emphasised that I am who I am, and there are no rules. I am a Colombian-born and South East London-raised individual, and those two worlds can coexist—it’s my existence. Since this project, I’ve met so many people from the community and had the pleasure of sharing and listening to many stories. We are grinders, pushing through even when there are barriers preventing us from being seen. Honestly, there’s a lot more I can say about this project. Now that I’ve worked my arse off to buy myself a camera and laptop, I will be resuming this project—it’s a forever project. I can’t wait to meet more of the community in the future.
