BROKEN ENGLISH – a film about @mariannefaithfullofficial by @iainandjane is released in the UK on Friday. Here’s a clip from the day Marianne’s final performance was filmed ~ I feel very lucky to have witnessed it all unfold. @thewarrenellis and @nickcaveofficial accompanied her and she sparkled with happiness around them. Sweet @jerry_stafford was there too, sprinkling magic. Goddess @bethorton and her endless beauty filmed that day as well. Marianne’s autobiography, highly recommended. My sister’s father-in-law @clive_arrowsmith shot Marianne for the cover of her 1981 album ‘Dangerous Acquaintances’. Such a lovely surprise to be nominated for the Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for The History of Sound. The end of 2024 and beginning of 2025 were so dark I couldn’t make the New Year cards. I almost didn’t make them at all, but then I realised I needed to send love and feel connected. So they are Midsummer cards instead ~ for all my precious beautiful friends who have been endlessly kind and truly bring the light ~ thank you always. ✨💞🍀🤍🌞🤍🍀💞✨

From overseeing a German symphony orchestra for Tàr to sorting the rights to The Macarena in Aftersun, each project has its own distinct challenges for music supervisor Lucy Bright. Her role involves managing all music-related aspects of a film, working with composers to create immersive audio landscapes and collaborating closely with directors to bring their vision to life sonically. BBC PROMS: 21st CENTURY SOUNDTRACKS I am so happy that this concert celebrating the best of 21st century soundtracks features two scores from films I music supervised (Tár by @hildur_gudnadottir and The End We Start From by @annahmeredith ) and scores by five of the composers signed to my music publishing company @brightnotionmusic : @herdisstef @tamar_kali @rob_simonsen @hildur_gudnadottir and Jed Kurzel – I am beyond proud of them.
