“I love things that don’t make logical sense, but they just totally work.”

I’ve been deeply fascinated by @ollycoates work ever since we crossed paths many moons ago in London. So I’m beyond delighted to share this gorgeous rework he’s done of my song ‘Other Tongues’.
Out today in all the usual places - link in bio.

with my friends Christina Vantzou and John Also Bennett a single comes out today -
“Death, Reverb and Decay” - a trio recording.
A phosphorous drone is wreathed in dark flute tones, rising incrementally from its lowest possible ebb. At the height of the winds’ ascent, the cello enters into a lamenting call and response texture. The vivid contrast between the yearning plea of the strings against the burnished breath of the flute carries the piece forward, over its meditative and solemn ground, like an ancient voyage across mournful waters.
