Making Varmints was such a huge thing for me and can’t thank everyone enough who either helped in making it or put up with me during that time.
Am having a celebratory listen just now! Oooof!!!
I’ve excavated lots of low res pics and reminiscences for today’s MULCH but having scanned for indulgence and melodrama I’ve decided it’s totally A-OK to say this album changed my life! What a totally humbling honour to get to write this stuff.
Thanks so much to everyone who’s listened or re-listened or wrote a nice thing or likes this album. Means, like, a lot….

Very chuffed to announce the release of the live recording of my orchestral piece Five Telegrams which was co-commissioned by @_bbcradio3_ , @edintfest and @1418now .
I wrote Five Telegrams in 2018 for the First Night of the Proms & the opening of the Edinburgh International Festival.

The performance was accompanied by amazing projected visuals by the excellent @59dotstudio (if interested, you can find a video of that version on the ole YouToob)
Huge thanks to @1418now for awarding us funding to support this release.
And if you’re a remotely interested orchestra, we’ve also slightly re-orchestrated the piece down from a zillion players to regular symphony orchestra + SATB choir.
As well as playing the whole thing, it’s also possible to perform any of the movements as miniatures in isolation or perform a suite/combo (sweet combo?) of movements I,III, IV and V with just orchestra or movement II as just SATB a capella choir.

Today marks 10 years of @annahmeredith ’s debut album Varmints, a record that made our 50 Best Albums of the Century list. Amongst other things, Anna has soundtracked Hollywood films since then, but I’m sure it all mean nothing compared to her Feb 2016 L&Q cover (issue 74)

Had such an unbelievable time @sundanceorg for the Wicker premiere. Met so many amazing, talented and sexy people. Had zero sleep. Never been so cold.

It’s such a testament to this film and love so many people have for it and the amazing Directors Al & El, that so many of cast and crew came from all over the world to be here to celebrate it. Actually feel bit choked up thinking about it (apparently it’s the altitude….)

So SOOOO thrilled to be able to share that I’ve written the score to WICKER - a brilliant new film directed by Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson and starring Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård, Peter Dinklage and Elizabeth Debicki (!!!!)
Also v excited to be going to @sundanceorg for the premiere this weekend. I’ll be loitering and doing some panels and chitchats around screenings so if you’re there - come say hi!

Just a little embarrassing gush about doing Anno @barbicancentre last night - loads of work from loads of amazing people & so grateful to everyone for basically everything…. (It’s a bit sweeping. I might be hungover)
