I had a nice Kreative Kontrol talk with @rrparry recently and we discussed the first time he collaborated with Dallas Good from @thesadiesofficial at the @dawsoncitymusicfest and it prompted me to dig up photos and footage I captured of the two of them playing together at the @hillsidefestival some years later. 'Were "The Watchtowers"' by Dallas Good + Richard Reed Parry is out on April 18 for @recordstoredayus and via @yeproc

sometimes it’s wonderful and difficult to hear new music and sounds by Dallas Good again. such is the case with episode 1085 of the Kreative Kontrol Are You Gone (When You’re Gone) podcast, because Richard Reed Parry returns to discuss ‘Were “The Watchtowers”’ by Dallas Good + Richard Reed Parry, his Skybarn recording studio, being a new dad and adjusting to life off the road, how he first got to know Dallas after they were randomly chosen to participate in a Dawson City Music Festival collaborative workshop, a shared love of the Everly Brothers and other key artists and records, instant friend crushes and a yearning to collaborate on music, how they wrote lyrics together in a shared, outdated day timer, insights about how vocals and other recordings of Dallas were used posthumously, how the sessions for ‘Colder Streams’ by the Sadies and the Watchtowers informed each other, a unique contribution by Neko Case and making an album with songs about the tragic loss of one of the creators of that same album, why it’s a Record Store Day exclusive, news about Richard’s other bands and pursuits, other future plans, and much more. it was lovely to catch up with Richard. obviously I wish Dallas was here too. look for ‘Were “The Watchtowers”’ during your RSD shopping spree, because that’s the only way you can hear it for now. also, please listen to the talk Richie and I had about it on my Kreative Kontrol podcast. thanks! 📸: @susanmossphotography @rrparry @thesadiesofficial @yeproc @recordstoredayus

On their third album, House Music, Bell Orchestre captures the impulsive, connective, mysterious poetics of musical invention happening in realtime. Both the album, and its visual counterpart which was directed by band member Kaveh Nabatian, unfold as one long piece, a recorded-then-sculpted improvisation that vastly expands their work, coalescing classical and electronic instrumentation in the creation of genre-defying musical worlds. Following a run of screenings at festivals in 2021, watch the full performance film, celebrating 5 years of House Music, on the Erased Tapes YouTube channel via the link in our bio.

Major congratulations to @clydehenryproductions and @brijittine and all at the @onf_nfb for their Oscar win!!!! The Girl Who Cried Pearls is such a masterpiece of animation, and the award is so well deserved. I am proud to have helped bring the music of the film to life - congratulations to @patrickwatsonofficial for the beautiful score and thank you for inviting me aboard, and to musical teammates @foonbeck and Sophie Trudeau for their magical touch. If you haven’t watched the film yet, go find it, you’ll be glad you did.

Really missing this guy today. If he were here in body today there’s a decent chance he’d be drinking a red rose tea in my kitchen whilst standing up. Happy D-day, friends of Dallas everywhere. 🤍☁️ 📸 @susanmossphotography
