As a little girl growing up in England, The Beatles are a huge part of our DNA. Every long car journey was soundtracked by them and Paul’s solo material, thanks to my dad. But even so it’s not every day you get invited to a private listening party for @paulmccartney ‘s new record — and even less likely he walks in to talk you through it track by track, in person.
I won’t lie, I teared up when he came into the room. Still finding the words to share what he showed us about the new record but I will soon- hitting @substack tomorrow — link in bio.
Anyone who knows me will know Joya is one of my absolute favourite records, and last year I had the absolute joy of a thoughtful conversation with its creator @wignifier@urbanwyatt shot these wonderful pictures that capture him so beautifully. ( and his wife’s amazing art too)
Apologies for everyone it took so long to surface but I did get to write about The Purple Bird and We are Together Again, both of which are excellent.
