This was my fourth year in a row at
@hammer_museum ’s Gala in the Garden and it’s always an inspiring event that unites the LA art world.
This year, guests including Owen Wilson, Rufus Wainwright, Nico Tortorella and Lauren Halsey came for cocktails, dinner and a program that honored television creator Darren Star and nearly 100-year-old artist Betye Saar.
In presenting to Star,

@tedsarandos noted that he had Beverly Hills, 90210; Melrose Place; and Sex & the City on the air all at the same time in 1998 — and all three of them have been rebooted (90210 twice). He added, “On Netflix alone, Darren Star’s projects have been watched 400 million times.”
Sarandos also recalled how, when Star received the Legion of Honor from French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, Macron gave some shocking statistics: “He mentioned that last year in France, 38% of all tourists identified Emily in Paris as the reason they went to Paris.” Head to
