Is it even a lunch at the Polo Lounge if you don’t have a McCarthy salad?! In addition to learning the latest happenings at the @dorchestercollection of hotels around the world (including the Tokyo property opening in 2028), yesterday, we got a preview of the renovations coming in November to the @bevhillshotel — the biggest changes the property has made since the 1940s. As described here by GM John Scanlon, the Beverly Hills Hotel will be adding a supper club with a bar, a live entertainment venue, a private dining room, a screening room, an indoor/outdoor hotel bar and a lobby dining/lounging space. Who’s excited?

@jonathananderson ’s first Cruise collection for @dior brought old Hollywood glamour to @lacma ! The scenery recalled 1950s Hollywood with vintage convertibles and streetlights, and the collection took inspiration from Marlene Dietrich — featured in a script provided on each seat (alongside a @dior blanket). “No Dior, no Dietrich!” famously said the actress when negotiating her role in 1950’s “Stage Fright” with director Alfred Hitchcock. Front row were fans like Anya-Taylor Joy, Mikey Cyrus, Mikey Madison and Sabrina Carpenter. The consensus? J’adore (or, more accurately, nous adorons!).

Here’s a sneak peek at @club_hue — a new members club opening in Koreatown this July from hospitality vet @robertekim (Lapaba, ABSteak) and a lot of heavy-hitting backers/members. The space — that gave me serious Amy Sacco Bungalow vibes! — will serve food by chef @chefhiroonagahara , cocktails made with Eva Chow’s @kheesoju and more. After last night’s preview, I’m convinced this one of the most creative, uniting and innovative openings coming to LA!

Following the success of our event at Marquee in New York last fall, @getlinked and I — along with @kendracolehand @stuartbrazell @nichelle @jessicahall and some other friends — brought the “old school dance party” to the West Coast. Last Thursday, we took over @gravitasbeverlyhills for a few hours of music, mingling, reuniting and dancing (for real) to sounds by the always incredible @djmichellepesce , @williamlifestyl and the drummer I insisted on, @djravidrums . No occasion, no agenda: simply because a few event and nightlife veterans enjoy bringing fun people together ... who aren’t afraid to leave it all on the dance floor. (See the last slide for our tribute to @goldenladyla , who would have been there.) Can’t wait to do it again soon!

In case you missed @marearestaurants at LA Mag’s Best New Restaurants event, here’s a fun reason to visit. For two nights (though tonight), chef @edgar_chavez of Riviera Maya’s @rwmayakoba joins Marea chef @chefpjcalapa for a Mexican-inspired menu. Pair ceviche, tuna tostada and tacos with cocktails created by the hotel’s award-winning @zapotebar (on North America’s @50bestbars list). It’s been a minute (10 years per the second 2016 Globes pic!) since I’ve caught up with @bryancranston . So it was great to hear about the seven-time Emmy winner’s latest projects. The @doshombres mezcal brand he founded in 2019 with @breakingbad costar @aaronpaul has been growing — and just launched a new tequila yesterday, on Cinco de Mayo. He also raved about the upcoming Season 2 of #TheStudio — and particularly, the scenes he filmed with @madonna ! We’ll drink to that!🍹

This was my fourth year in a row at @hammer_museum ’s Gala in the Garden and it’s always an inspiring event that unites the LA art world. This year, guests including Owen Wilson, Rufus Wainwright, Nico Tortorella and Lauren Halsey came for cocktails, dinner and a program that honored television creator Darren Star and nearly 100-year-old artist Betye Saar. In presenting to Star, @netflix CEO @tedsarandos noted that he had Beverly Hills, 90210; Melrose Place; and Sex & the City on the air all at the same time in 1998 — and all three of them have been rebooted (90210 twice). He added, “On Netflix alone, Darren Star’s projects have been watched 400 million times.” Sarandos also recalled how, when Star received the Legion of Honor from French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, Macron gave some shocking statistics: “He mentioned that last year in France, 38% of all tourists identified Emily in Paris as the reason they went to Paris.” Head to @lamag for more! (Post 3 of 3) I also visited some staples in Mayfair (@dantenewyorkcity ’s now permanent home at @claridgeshotel , the award-winning bar at @theconnaught , the Beverly Hills Hotel’s sister property @thedorchester for tea), hit three members clubs, went for daily runs in Hyde Park and got to spend time with a few dear friends that are like family. For this reason — and because as a New Yorker, I feel most at home in urban cities like this — I felt emotional upon leaving. As if I were leaving a part of myself, and perhaps I was: the student who once had a clear-cut vision of what her life would be (a financial analyst in NY), and who deviated from it in every possible way. We travel to see new things and meet new people and discover the world, of course. But isn’t it funny when the thing you learn most about is yourself?

(Post 2 of 3) I remember the literary roots and culture — the moment an art history teacher told me that, despite being on the business track, I had a future in art writing (I loved writing about anything, I thought). Anyway, thanks to @ulkuekenny @babbaquinn87 @ellieleo94 @alicemarshallpr and the Irish boutique hotel brand @thedoylecollection , I spent four days immersed in different areas of the city, where Doyle has properties. We ventured from the upscale Kensington (where we visited the @schiaparelli exhibit at the @vamuseum and tried the @kensingtonhotel ’s fashion-inspired tea), to Bloomsbury (where we saw @pradawestend musical and later accosted star @VanessaWilliamsofficial ) to Marylebone (a walkable neighborhood with cute shops and restaurants like @108marylebonelane , that most reminded me of NY).

(Post 1 of 3) I studied abroad at @ucl one semester during college and I never imagined it would be 25 years before I’d return to London. People were curious to know the biggest ways London has changed, but it’s overshadowed by the ways I’ve changed. Back then, I lived in a dorm in Camden with inconsistent heat and hot water, rarely ventured to posh areas like Kensington (where I just spent four days) and traveled in the most budget way possible — snagging cheap flights to neighboring countries to pack hotel rooms with multiple other students (@josh.fields77 @mariannamoliver @tmegdal remember Dublin?). It’s the little things that trigger memories: that pervasive smell of coffee in the streets (what America lacks is this convivial outdoor cafe culture), the supermarket and drug store brands I haven’t thought of since, the way people are so polite, honest and densely concentrated — how you can overhear snapshots of their lives in passing, because everyone is just so close to each other.

Awards season may still be months away, but Emmy momentum is already building across Los Angeles. This week’s TV events brought together reality stars, producers, network executives and awards hopefuls for a packed stretch of FYC panels, industry lunches and splashy premieres.⁠ ⁠ At Peacock’s The Traitors event in Hollywood, Alan Cumming and the Season 4 creative team teased what may be the campiest season yet, complete with a surprise fashion show and behind-the-scenes stories from the castle. Meanwhile, NBCUniversal gathered its 2026 Emmy contenders at Avra Beverly Hills, where talent from Hacks, Law & Order: SVU, Love Island USA, Saturday Night Live and more mingled over lunch as the Emmy race officially kicked into gear.⁠ ⁠ Across town, Hulu unveiled its latest unscripted slate at its second annual Get Real house event, with announcements involving Khloé Kardashian, Heidi Klum, Project Runway, Dancing With the Stars and several new reality series headed to screens soon.⁠ ⁠ Hollywood’s television machine is officially back in awards mode.
