In 2020, a year that has had most of us fighting to keep our careers alive, I’m eternally grateful to be recognized by FORBES for the sets I’ve been putting in and for nona entertainment’s part in getting safe gigs produced and the many DJs we are inspired by back to booking gigs. Work opportunities are crazy limited and I will never forgot all the companies (really the kick ass humans) trusting in us to match the best DJs for their particular creative needs. Nor the collaboration and many conversations that have gone on and the clients that understand that in 2020, the vibe we create together hits much deeper than just ‘another Hllwd party’.
Seeing my name in black and white next to Forbes reminded of my years as Treasurer in my Student Gov (high school and college in Ohio y’all) and my 2 years as an accounting major and then mktg and logistics double major. I still have SO MUCH to learn (business plans and evolved team management to start) but I’m thankful for the LACK of a security net (on most days) that lit a flame when I was young. And the grandma who whispered “Get your education and get out of that house” and forced me to take on student debt if I wanted to go away to college even though it scared the hell out of me (anyone else remember the beyond proud day they paid off their college loans?!). So appreciate the nudges to start nona entertainment 5 years ago and the 15-20 year DJ career that I still get high off of because of most of YOU + MUSIC.

Shout-out all the people creating musical journeys together as it is still a transfer of energy bouncing back and forth...just a bit more challenging. And to all the friends who make the time to tune in, show up (w mask), refer, re-post, comment, send props in the dm, give advise, inspire from afar.... It means more than you know.

Featured by a magazine representing Los Angeles. A city that’s now been my home for more than 1/2 my life. A city that many arrive at with big hopes and quickly realize it will eat you up if you don’t keep your feet on the ground. A city where just about anything is possible w determination, HUSTLE and a lil magic. A city where I’m constantly in awe of my friends, my experiences, still experiencing ‘firsts’ and holy shit….I’ve been a full time DJ for 20 years in an industry that is known to perpetually be on to the next thing.

Thank you to the friends/fam who keep me on my toes and embrace all my passions 🔥. To the clients and @nonaentertainment DJs who continue to trust me and the ones who have been on the journey. Honored once again. I closed out Awards Season Sunday night with Warner Bros. celebrating the creatives behind “One Battle After Another”, “Sinners” and “Weapons”. 11 Oscar wins and 30 nominations and holy shit was that a FUN, intimate party!!!!
And Saturday, I was once again at Night Before w MPTF.
Congrats to all the LA vendors who put in the hustle and passion the past many months of Awards Season. So great to see us back to work post Covid /strikes /fires. I know it’s needed so keep supporting local vendors on LA events!! And for a city that so often goes to the NEXT ‘it X’ I appreciate the clients who value the seasoned DJs who really understand how to build a musical journey on a night like The Oscars or Globes. There is an art and instinct to it and I love seeing those DJs working again and again cause we most def need a communal vibration in the room and a get down on the dance floor 🫶🏼 Thank you clients for keeping this girl working over all these Awards Seasons 💋

When I told friends I was going to leave my flourishing career (w my own office w a window and an assistant ;) in personal publicity to try this DJ life (I had bought my turntables 4 years prior and been moonlighting as a DJ for 2 years atp) most thought it was NOT the move. Looking back I know how lucky I was to be raised by my grandma who was tough but had my back. How lucky I was to learn how to plow thru adversity in childhood. How lucky I was to meet Spinderella who mentored me. How lucky I was to have some tough female bosses and boss- friends who taught me, challenged the F out of me and nurtured me. And friends who have been ‘home’. And all those who have hired myself and @nonaentertainment DJs along the way. And how lucky I am to know and be trusted by some of the top DJs and Event creatives in the world. And we get people to dance?!? 20++ years. What?!?!! Luck + support + busting my ass and aiming to keep it 💯. X

This is a big one. Go and wish my brother @tp1zzl3 a happy and healthy birthday fam!! He just turned 43 and for the past year a few of us in the family have been gently holding our breath. Our father and our beyond loved brother Mikey both passed away at 42 from heart failure. Tell your people you love them. ❤️ So exhale and bring on 43 and those bday wishes brother. You got this!!! It has warmed my heart to watch you grow as a funny and loving human since becoming a dad. And it has likely saved me that you and Kelly bought your first home 1.3 miles away from my house and have been so close geographically especially since 2020.
