The most surreal evening! We were blown away to win Best Drama Series @bafta for @itv #codeofsilence! A truly inspiring year of incredible shows. Bringing the deaf and disabled experience into the heart of our storytelling is a brilliant thing for everyone. Such eloquent words from our star @rose.a.e and creator @catmoulton . A dream to work with such a genuinely lovely bunch. @diarmogoggins@bryarnold (Queen of TV) @jwashrubb . And the team for my episodes @mark.trend@aggiliggett@raphi_randall ✂️ @samcare_dop 🎥 and @jtbsena 🖊️ Thank you @mammothscreen 🦣
I shot Episodes 4-6 of @itv@mammothscreen #CodeofSilence with the most fabulous team. I’m delighted to see the reception to @diarmogoggins first episode, and over the moon for @catmoulton and @rose.a.e . It was a pleasure to craft the look of the show as it evolved with @samcare_dop 🎥 and my skilled team of editors ✂️ @aggiliggett (Episode 4) @mark.trend (Episode 5) and @raphi_randall (Episode 6). Grateful too for the support from my dear friend script supervisor @jtbsena 💫. It’s far from easy to stick the landing with a thriller, but I hope we did the world of this important show justice. It has been a privilege to think so deeply about representing the deaf and disabled community with this powerful story, and I feel excited to continue to do so in future. Thank you, @bryarnold & @mammothscreen for having me and my team finish the show!
Vita & Virginia (2018) dir. Chanya Button
Vita & Virginia is a biographical drama chronicling the passionate and intellectual relationship between writer Virginia Woolf (Elizabeth Debicki) and socialite Vita Sackville-West (Gemma Arterton). Set in 1920s England, the film explores themes of love, art, and identity, with their unconventional romance inspiring Woolf's Orlando, one of her most celebrated novels.
Chanya Button’s direction blends historical drama with modern sensibilities, incorporating an evocative electronic score by Isobel Waller-Bridge. The film juxtaposes the rigid norms of the period with the daringly progressive nature of the central relationship, offering a fresh perspective on the dynamics of creativity and desire.
Premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2018, Vita & Virginia received praise for its performances and historical detail, though its narrative pacing divided critics. Despite this, the film remains a poignant tribute to Woolf’s legacy and the revolutionary spirit of Sackville-West.

These Doctors!! These sparkling, clever Doctors!! Simply a privilege to direct as David and @ncutigatwa cuddled and collaborated. You are both astonishing. If you haven’t watched THE GIGGLE yet, please proceed calmly to your nearest @bbciplayer or @disneyplus and buckle up! ✨🤡✨🤡✨🤡✨
It’s time! ‘The Giggle’ airs tonight on @bbciplayer and @disneyplus . I’ve always loved Doctor Who because of its enormous heart. It radiates warmth, even as it catapults you through mystery, fear and adventure. The joy of making this was in the people we made it with. Thank you to the most fabulous leader @russelltdavies63 for an amazing ticket to the best rollercoaster I’ve ever ridden! And thank you @mikaorasmaa 🎥 @mark.trend ✂️ and @lislamona 🎨 for being such silly, joyful, talented companions on set and in the cutting room. ENJOY!!! ❤️❤️ 🟦 ✨
Unearthed some gorgeous BTS pics shooting some mega action with treasured friend and octopus-like DOP @mikaorasmaa . Blackpool beach! (giant disco ball not pictured, but is in the rushes behind some escaping soldiers).
Stumbled across a little treasure from #burnburnburn 🎥 Made in the relative Utopia of 2014! That’s (sort of) my dear pal Jack Farthing, in a kinder egg. What a wonderful time we had 💙
