CAPTURING THE OLD MASTERS⁠.⁠.⁠Chris Floyd recently shot this wonderful series of portraits of legendary artist Sir Quentin Blake, who is "now 93 and still powering through paper, paints, pencils and pastels”.⁠.⁠.⁠Chris photographed the nation’s 'most beloved illustrator' for The Telegraph at his studio in west London, as he prepares to open a new centre for illustration - the world’s biggest space dedicated to art form.⁠.⁠.⁠Huge thanks to @andygreenacre_ for this wonderful commission and the Telegraph design team for the beautiful cover and opening spread treatment.⁠.⁠.⁠@chrisfloyd⁠@telegraph⁠@quentinblakehq⁠@qbcentre

Beautifully-captured shots by @chrisfloyd, who was commissioned to photograph backstage and during a screening of ‘Broken English’ at the Barbican Centre, (an ingenious and emotional film about the life of Marianne Faithful, made by Jane Pollard and Iain Forsyth). ⁠.⁠.⁠Chris caught stunning performances by Beth Orton, Jarvis Cocker, Anna Calvi, Ed Harcourt, Rufus Wainwright & Nadine Shah - who were accompanied by a backing band made up of members of Radiohead, Portishead, Pulp, PJ Harvey’s band, and Ed Harcourt on the piano. ⁠.⁠.⁠"The backdrop was a previously undiscovered portrait of Marianne photographed by the great Gered Mankowitz in 1964.
