Laurence Fishburne reads an incredible letter from a former slave to his old master @townhallnyc . We return to this beautiful venue TOMORROW with another incredible line-up of letter readers - a handful of tickets remain, grab them while you can (link in bio 🔗) In 1864, Jourdon Anderson escaped a life of slavery and moved to Ohio. A year later, he received a desperate letter from the man who used to own him, asking him to return to work on his now ailing plantation. This is Jourdon’s magnificent reply, performed at Letters Live in NYC back in 2018. Jourdon Anderson never returned to Big Spring, Tennessee. He passed away in 1907, aged 81, and is buried alongside his wife and eleven children. Watch the whole performance over on YouTube now 👉

None other than @astro_timpeake joined us to read a poignant letter at a special Earth Day Letters Live @royalalberthall , in support of @greenpeaceuk . In 1959, on the eve of his historic journey on the Aurora 7 spacecraft, NASA astronaut Malcolm Scott Carpenter received a letter from his father, about the power of Mother Nature.
