Huge congratulations to my amazing wife Liza for the success of Hamnet which she optioned before it was published and took all the way to the Oscars winning a Golden Globe and a BAFTA on the way..quite a journey! #oscars #movie
Great to catch up with the very wonderful @stephenmerchant Merchant on the last weekend of the play. It’s all done and dusted now and time to move on to other things but I always miss New York when I have to leave.. #nyc #broadway
The great @mrmarkstrong and #lesleymanville are winding up their run in @oedipusbway . If you’re in NYC, get your woolies on and go and see some Greek tragedy directed the right way by @roberticke , its a stunner. But if you want to stay warm, what better way than the liquid cocoa of Mark’s bass baritone talking me through his remarkable life and times on the #stagedoorjonny podcast. He’s GREAT value. #theatre #life #lifeinthetheatre
Late Night with Seth Meyers tonight. A real gentleman - truly funny and so welcoming. It was such a pleasure to meet him and the amazing Sarah Silverman too. A true NYC happening.. @latenightseth@sarahkatesilverman photos Lloyd Bishop/NBC @lloydbishop
Jodie Foster. An amazing career from Taxi Driver to The Accused to Silence of the Lambs she is consistently brilliant and turns out to be a really lovely person too.. she loved the play and it was fun to meet her and spend some time getting to know her.. #jodiefoster #movies #actor @bruglikas
RDJ. The Man the Myth the Legend. Great to see him after the play and catch up and chat about old times. Lord Blackwood so nearly had the better of Sherlock back then but his end under Tower Bridge put a stop to that.. @robertdowneyjr #sherlock #actor #movies photo Bruce Glikas @bruglikas
Keith McNally. One of life’s true gentlemen. Unfailingly generous and someone I am so proud to call a friend ever since we first met over twenty years ago when I was appearing at BAM with Uncle Vanya and Twelfth Night. I was in Balthazar one of his many excellent New York restaurants one night when he leaned over from the neighbouring booth to find out who I was because he’d heard my English accent. Once he found out I was an actor that was it. Having been an actor himself and a great lover of the theatre a friendship was born. His autobiography “I Regret Almost Everything” is a wonderful insight into the amazing journey his life has taken him on and he is at the same time an inspiration and a legend.. @keithmcnallynyc #newyork
