Took time out of the March work madness to shoot this beautiful collaborative shoot at Frank Lloyd Wright’s wonderland with the loveliest @camytotah of @mull.muse 🪩🩵 Ever since we got back from Spain, I’ve been hopping from one thing to another—from starting an intensive 12-week long climate fellowship to planning an #EarthMonth fashion show and exhibition (more on that soon ✨), to community event coordinating, to closet audits for style clients back to back. In between takes, we laughed and simultaneously commiserated about the state of the world, ideated on more creative things to come. Working with Camy was the ultimate girlhood experience I needed to get back to MY creative center. Last Friday at Startup Art Fair San Francisco, The Living Archive opened with a powerful runway experience. An immersive show celebrating regenerative design, cultural heritage, and the beauty of repair, featuring designers transforming upcycled textiles and heirloom materials into deeply personal, wearable art. More than a runway, the show was an open invitation to connect with the work, the makers, and the ideas shaping a more thoughtful future for fashion. Some new faces here! a re-introduction is needed 🧚🏼 Hiii, I’m Kara— multihyphenate & lover of unproblematic fashion! You probably found me through @startupartfair running around frantically getting models and designers to rehearse for opening night’s fashion show for @the_livingarchive_ ! I’m the lead curator of it :) 👋🏽 but it took a whole community of creatives who believe in uplifting fair, hyper local, and unique fashion. 🩵 More about me! 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽 My work sits at the intersection of fashion
styling, fair fashion advocacy, community building, event production, and content creation.  Formerly collaborating with global nonprofit, @remakeourworld , as a community organizer for the Bay Area chapter, I’ve spent nearly a decade in the ethical fashion space advocating for accountability and transparency against the traditional fashion industry model. I’ve served as a panelist and moderator for conversations rooted in sustainability, equity, and circularity. From policy to fair labor in the fashion industry to styling, I’ve spanned those intersectional conversations for orgs such as the @unep at the Global Fashion Summit for @globalfashionagenda , @kqed , #sfclimateweek . I’ve also branched out to collaborate with fashion brands and organizations who share my commitment to accessibility, circularity, heritage design, and equity–facilitating them through visual storytelling and community building. More recently, my work has expanded into styling for and/or producing independent film projects that amplify underrepresented voices. I’m so happy you’re here!
