Launching our new title this year, te magazine N°4 𝚂𝚙𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚕 𝙼𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚢 《脊柱记忆》. Orders now available on our website, link in bio! Starting from the spine, the very pillar of life, issue 4 of te magazine focuses on nonhuman animals to explore the manipulation of their bodies alongside themes of perception and empathy. This fourth issue does not offer answers; instead, it comprises reflections and imaginations, as most contributors have long-standing experiences with or ongoing research on animals. Through observation, education, painting, writing, and image-making, they seek to loosen the existing “ethical relationships” and “orderly rules.” Is it possible to envision a relatively equal multispecies world? Can we relearn how to coexist with “the other” through a more humble and introspective lens? Issue 4 offers no definitive answers; instead, it invites readers to inhabit the bodies of others, to feel and acknowledge them. A slow exchange occurs that reopens our imagination and generates a relationship that has yet to be named. 𓇻 Featuring 10 contributions across disciplines. 𓇻 Editorial team @michaelguooo @kechuncc @nod_yek 𓇻 Graphic design, as always by @solxus You will encounter the book at the following book fairs and in bookstores!

✧ exhibitor spotlight ✧ ✧ Library Mothership London Library Mothership is a visual odyssey that crawls on the surface of the image. It serves as a visual and textual archive, systematically researching, archiving, and curating image studies in artist’s books, super books, and printed fashion objects. Through its published and furnished surfaces, where words meet objects, cyber-interfaces mesh analog materials, an iconography of contemporary life and death is drawn. @library_mothership ✧ Luka Yuanyuan Yang & te editions New York / Beijing / London Luka Yuanyuan Yang is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Beijing and London, working across documentary film, video art, photography and performance to explore themes of identity, migration, and memory. te editions is a curatorial, editorial, and publishing collective operating in New York and Beijing, dedicated to exploring the intersection of art and the humanities. They examine historical and contemporary social landscapes through a diversified and microscopic lens, focusing on how cultures encounter, collapse, and transform each other within global cultural flows. Launched with a bilingual annual magazine in 2021 and formally established in 2023, they collaborate with research-driven artists, scholars, and communities to produce physical publications together. @te.editions @lukayang ✧ Nomad Papaya Books Düsseldorf / Taipei Nomad Papaya BOOKS is an art book / zine publishing house focusing on transition of culture(s) and identit(ies), based in Taiwan / Germany. The founder started questioning the notions of identity and nationality but get really confused by himself, so he decided to make art books and collaborate with people, try (not) to seek answers and form new ideologies and relations. 📚 Digital publication: ‘The Borderless Shelf: Re-imagining a Library Space’ Last summer, @te.editions ’ residency as @asymmetryartorg Librarians-in-Residence unfolded across New York City and London, travelling farther than we had imagined. ‘The Borderless Shelf: Re-imagining a Library Space’ is a digital publication that documents these encounters and continues to hold and circulate the ideas, conversations, and practices that emerged during, and beyond, the programmes we organised together. The publication features te editions’ conversations with reading rooms and bookshops, reflections on the Drifting Backpack initiative, and a commissioned essay by our Curatorial Fellow Sharon X. Liu @sharonxyza . Sharon’s text investigates the Chinese literati Tian Han’s studies and social life during the Taishō period in Tokyo, tracing a once-existing transnational cosmopolitanism and asking: how might we imagine, and create new connections and solidarities in the present moment? By sharing this publication, we hope to encourage reading as a communal event, and the library as a porous site that moves between the singular and transmission, allowing conversations to continue, as reading is about us all. 📖 Read the publication via link in bio👆 Designed by @fleurbleueeeee

🥢 Exhibition🥢 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘌𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘴 偏食 is now on view, an exhibition curated by @te.editions . At @hongmuseum_official , Wenzhou. 2026.1.17 - 7.17 With food as the thematic anchor, 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘌𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘴 examines the constant deviations taking place in our world. The exhibition stages a conversation on the contemporary food system between eleven artists and artist collectives with research backgrounds, exploring the alienation experienced by producers, consumers, and food alike, as well as the mechanics of displacement that subtly affect our senses and sensibilities. The exhibition foregrounds the apparatus of control that is omnipresent throughout gathering and industrial manufacturing. The search for the source of food is also an inquiry into labor: who has been sacrificed within this closed loop? Within the exhibition’s framework, Wenzhou not only represents the process by which local experience is absorbed into a global system but also provides a means for contemplating material interests and ethics. With 11 groups of artists: @jumanamanna @liuxinyil @map_ocean @1qr_wan @_waterchestnut @shashuang_suswo @twu_o3 @tingaotin & @lyleartsydudes @elianurvista Mao Chenyu Zheng Bo Exhibition design by @studio_eki_ong Graphic design by @y17studio_official Photos by @zhengyezhou_

To start with a fresh year, @hongmuseum_official will present a group exhibition Digestive Ethics, which will open from January 17 to July 17, 2026. Curated by Michael Guo and Kechun Qin (@te.editions ), Digestive Ethics takes food as a portal to expose the ongoing alienation of food, labor, and perception within globalized production chains. Eleven artists trace out an invisible food chain—from oceans and forests to factories—reflecting on the entanglement of local experiences and global systems, as well as the veiled labor and exploitation behind them. The exhibition invites the audience to "chew" their relationship with the world anew. NASTORE, WKU Library #hongmuseum_official #digestivethics
