What a pickling year, at the start of the year, I was thrilled to be part of Hong Museum’s artist residence “The Plan of Going Home” in my hometown, Wenzhou. I chose a range of special Wenzhou Pickles as my focus, working with Lyle Lin for the project. This Pickle Project playing a role to tell the stories and words that I was shamed to say in my language.Perhaps it helps me to share the fantasies and tales. The workshop is collaborated with He Oumi, as local instructor, leading participants together share own experiences with Pickles, and introduce a unique perspective with our tactility. In the meantime, I’m honestly impressed and taught by all participants’ willingness and truthful expression! . <Exhibition Announcement> 2025.08.15(fri) – 08.17(sun) 10:00-17:00 at @torinoki_furniture Gao Qizhen · Tin Ceramic Collection -小陣- @tingaotin We’re happy to present Tin’s first exhibition in Japan — the Berlin-based artist originally from Wenzhou, China. To celebrate the opening, we’ll host a small reception on August 15th from 5 PM, with vegan gyoza by @junkoflechtner . Come by and bring your friends. ◼︎◼︎◼︎◼︎◼︎ Gao Qizhen · Tin (b.1998, Wenzhou) lives and works in Berlin. Through rhythmic handcraft, she transforms fibre and ceramic mix with decaying materials into intimate visual narratives, interweaving emotions, familial ethics, and self-identity exploration. By combining everyday domestic techniques with ephemeral and fragile matter, she invites the viewer to taste inner desires, past ruptures, and present sensations. -小陣- A whisper, a wave, a period, a setup, a conversation, a space, a gathering. This summer, from August 15 to August 17, Tin is bringing a selected ceramic collection both made in Jingdezhen and Berlin, as well as a special textile edition (tea coaster/ cushion) for TORINOKI FURNITURE. ＊The artist is scheduled to be present for all three days.
