A hands-on workshop led by Sun Park and Chiemi Shimada, combining oracle card reading with Super 8 filmmaking. We will read cards together and grow a map for an improvised collective filmmaking. Cameras and film stock provided. This workshop is for anyone interested in card reading as a tool for unlocking intuition, and in learning to film on Super 8 cameras. This workshop takes place at the ICA as part of DAYTRIP, a special takeover featuring an all-day programme of film, performance, and practice-based workshops, culminating in a club night. We are running a collective divination and filmmaking workshop at @queereast and we’d love you to join us 📹🌻🌳 Collective Divination and Filmmaking Workshop Date: Saturday 16 May 2026 Time: 2:30-5:30 pm (3 hours) Location: ICA How to join: Link in bio to sign up This hands-on workshop explores cosmotechnical storytelling through collective tarot reading and intuitive filmmaking and is led by Sun Park and Chiemi Shimada. Cosmotechnics is philosopher Yuk Hui’s idea that every culture develops its own technologies through its unique relationship to cosmos and ways of knowing. We will use tarot and oracle cards to engage with deep intuition and the alchemical processes by which individual creativities become a forest of their own. We will listen and read together to create our own cosmology, then re-read images, assign them new meanings, and grow a visual language for a film made on Super 8 cameras. 水托邦/ HYDROTOPIA , film and live performance on 30 January 2026, 21.30 UBIK at @worm_rotterdam with @iffr In extreme cold, the human body can turn against itself through paradoxical undressing: failing nerves mistake freezing for heat, compelling the dying to shed their last protection. In 水托邦 (Hydrotopia), hydrophones frozen into a block of ice capture the material disintegration of their frozen body as a projected film gradually emerges into clarity. The film follows artist Jamie Man suspended by hooks pierced through flesh in a British winter landscape, practicing rituals rooted in Shiva-dedicated traditions that explore a state of perpetual non-being. As the ice surrenders its form and the image sharpens into focus, transformation itself becomes the subject: matter abandoning one state for another, the body held suspended between dissolution and emergence. Introducing... Chiemi Shimada and Jamie Man, featured artists at Morgan Quaintance's 'Available Light', presented by @outlandsnetwork The duo of Japan-born and London-based filmmaker Chiemi Shimada @smdcem and British composer Jamie Man @jamieman___will present the performance 'Celestial Palpitations', a new work for recorded voice, analogue slide projector and electronics. Jamie Man/ 文珮玲 uses the forms of opera, live performance and dark room installations to create works primarily concerned with music and the poetic mystery of the transtopian body. Chiemi Shimada is an artist and filmmaker currently based in London. London-based artist, writer and musician Morgan Quaintance presents an evening of performance and improvised music. Featuring an audio-visual performance from the duo of artist and filmmaker Chiemi Shimada and composer Jamie Man; spoken word from artist and filmmaker Sophio Medoidze; DJ sets from artist and filmmaker Stanley Schtinter; and two live sets of improvised music from a group including Milips (samples and electronics), Pharaoh Russell (drums), David Chin (bass and electronics) and Quaintance (guitar). The Cafe OTO event is part of 'Available Light', a year-long expanded touring commission, presenting Quaintance’s work in various formats in the UK and on the continent.
