We're proud to introduce our DJs for this midwinter edition of HYBRID IDENTITY:
Patrick Russell was shaped by the Detroit techno and house scenes, where weekly exposure to DJs like Mike Huckaby, Theo Parrish, Claude Young, and Jeff Mills instilled a deep commitment to music selection, narrative programming, and technical excellence—principles he has refined over decades. He has long been one of our favorite DJs, not just for his technical command, but for the care and intention behind every set. At home and abroad, Russell remains a vital presence: an original resident of No Way Back, a resident at The Bunker New York, and a longtime contributor to Detroit’s Movement festival, including a featured Main Stage appearance in 2024.
Vile is a DJ and producer from Medellín, Colombia, blending hypnotic, raw techno with electro and experimental sound design. Drawing from both local roots and global influences, their sets immerse listeners in spaces of tension, movement, and release.
KXAH is an NYC-based sound artist and curator, blending techno, acid, EBM, and textured electro into immersive, long-form sets. Drawing from underground club culture, modular experimentation, and her curatorial work with ambient and experimental artists, her performances unfold as fluid journeys shaped by tension, movement, and release.
FRDM b2b Wryen opens the night with a pairing of two Brooklyn-based selectors whose approaches meet in deep, driving club music. FRDM, a founding member of the Locked Groove collective, builds extended, hypnotic grooves through layered percussion, futuristic atmospheres, and relentless rhythmic momentum. Wryen draws from a wide-ranging archive to shape sparse, dub-informed techno with patience and precision, informed by years of involvement in NYC’s underground.
threehz is an NYC-based selector exploring the emotive edges of techno, experimental, and ambient music, drawing inspiration from sludgy dark psychedelia to pulsing, warp-drive drum tracks. Whether rinsing healing or destructive frequencies, as the namesake suggests, threehz crafts textured, curated soundscapes heard across NYC event series and residencies for The Lot Radio.
