Whether rinsing healing or destructive frequencies, as their namesake suggests, threehz knows how to craft textured, curated soundscapes on the dance floor which can be heard at multiple event series’ in NYC and monthly residency No Dawn for @thelotradio Ananda Metelina AKA @mayilovesummer —a New York-based DJ, event producer, and co-founding member of Hybrid Identity @hybrid_identity_ - a podcast and event series highlighting experimental sides of techno and ambient, and promoting gender balance in the electronic music industry. As a musician, they spin a mix of dark, hypnotic, broken beat techno, experimental, and ambient — including references to their roots, by mixing in sounds inspired by Vaishnavism and Eastern sonic patterns. As a vibe curator and culture creator, they aim to establish diverse and inclusive spaces that allow for shared cathartic experiences, while centering and celebrating queer, trans, and female bodies. Russia-born and raised, they know the true meaning of community as resistance; with their life work being to provide safety and joy to their diaspora. ~With the 13th edition of our mix series Emsho @emsho.music walks us through a meandering path between genres and thus between seasons as we shift from summer to autumn. Alongside it, a written fragment by @mayilovesummer echoes her selection. Emsho is an Iranian-born DJ/producer based in Brooklyn. Born and raised in Iran, she emerged from the underground before setting sail for NYC, where she found her calling in vinyl collecting while frequenting the various haunts which make up the vibrant Brooklyn underground music landscape. Emsho showcases a variation of styles and rhythms with Latin and UK influences, delivering a dynamic and immersive listening experience. She hosts Crew Cuts parties in NYC, and has released tracks with Domesticated and Apranik records.~ ~Coda of Summer Impossibility of grasping last rays of departing summer

It has been a month now since my graduation - final step in my decades and countries/spanning undergrad journey. But having gone through all of this I would not have it any other way! My major TDM @fittextiledevelopmentmktg at FIT was meant to bring it all home for me. Proud to call myself textile nerd 🤓🪡 Two years at @aatcc.fitnyc board got me a cord and medal was awarded by @fit_prezscholars - had an honor of being accepted to this program last two years of my studies as well. 🧑‍🎓🌟 Majestic film photography to capture the morning of graduation galloping through campus in just 2 hours was a courtesy of @jdr____llc 💕 There were many many people who helped me on my journey, and as much as it is a solitary project it is also a big collective effort! And to these individuals I am so very grateful: my family, partners, friends, professors, classmates, industry acquaintances - really takes a village. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 So what’s next? Of course more employment in the industry is the most immediate goal but also low key looking for my next academic adventure. After I recover from this one 🫠

Music had the right to us then, and frankly always. Harsh winter morning light was forgiving. We breathed cigarettes while greeting February. Clinton Hill stood especially regal.
