My very first trip to
@aireconuk — and honestly, what a way to start.
Of course, I had to kick things off with the obligatory photo in front of the iconic AireCon sign… but there was no time to hang around because I was immediately drawn to the giant version of Hey That’s My Fish! — and yes, it’s just as fun oversized as you’d imagine.
After a quick lap to take it all in (because wow, there’s a lot), I headed outside to meet up with my friend Flav and the
@hachetteboardgamesuk team. This is where things got really exciting — I got to demo some of the upcoming Bezel box upcoming titles, and let’s just say… my “to-buy” list is growing rapidly. Their setup was incredible too — loads of space, loads of energy, and constant games hitting the tables.
Inside, the shopping temptation was very real. Stalls from
@travellingmanuk @gamescrusade , and All Rolled Up made it dangerously easy to “accidentally” expand the collection.
And if you’re there to actually play (which… obviously), AireCon absolutely delivers — three massive halls packed with tables, all buzzing with people gaming nonstop.
One of the highlights for me was getting to demo upcoming games from a range of publishers. I checked out some titles from
@molinarius_games , and Before the Rain and Ocean Pods really stood out — definitely ones to keep an eye on.
Then came a super fun moment — I got to play Bald Yeti with Kev, the creator and illustrator himself… and yes, I won. I will absolutely be mentioning that again.
Another big highlight was finally meeting Katherine from
@nodrinksonthetable in person after chatting online for months — always love when the board game community comes full circle like that.
And throughout the weekend, I got loads of games in with new friends — including Pokémon Splendor, which I’ve wanted to try for ages. Apparently Ollie picked it up in Korea… but I’ll let you chase him for that story.
AireCon, you were incredible.
First time… definitely not the last. I’ll be back every year. 🎲✨
