Designed to make you stop whatever you're doing and just look. That was the point.
When we started the build, every window in this home was placed with intention — each opening considered for how it would engage the landscape, bring in light, and work within the space.
In the kitchen and dining area in particular,
@hibbsluxuryhomes and I moved the window by inches to get it right, maximizing the view without interrupting the furniture.
No window treatments. Instead, roller shades that disappear into the walls so nothing competes with what's outside.
Lighting was kept minimal for the same reason — nothing overhead to pull your eye away from the mountains. Furniture low and uncomplicated for the same.
None of these are big decisions on their own. But together, that's exactly how a room comes together.
