A sweet afternoon wandering around Varenna last month. Sun-on-lake light sparkles, old Italian cobblestones, stairs, and balusters, lots of good flora, column inspo galore, finding a cozy place for a spritz, and mindfully maneuvering through a crowded tourist town and all the folks in flowy summer dresses making content.
Milan! Grazie mille, as they say. You know I was practicing my Italian all week. See below for some thoughts on my first Milan Design Week if you’re into that. Otherwise, enjoy these photos of everyone’s favorite villa to take a tour of, @villanecchicampiglio which I got to explore before all the MDW craziness began.
Milan Design Week was a time! It’s huge, I had no idea the scale of it until only a few days before, when friends sent their spreadsheets and Google Maps of events, rsvp’s, and pins galore. It was so fun to zip across the city on foot, e-bike, subway, and streetcar, eyes wide open, peering over Milan’s midcentury architecture, cute door pulls, and ornate palazzo exteriors en route to all the various affairs.

Spent a morning at @tiffanyandco 5th Ave flagship for @elpaissemanal with Chief Gemologist Victoria Reynolds, taking a peek into their jewelry studio and archival collection room.

For @dwellmagazine Jan/Feb issue on intergenerational family living—this story follows Eddie and his mother Solveiga, in the apartment that he designed and renovated on a shoestring budget. They live together in Manhattan’s Penn South, a lottery-entered, publicly subsidized, affordable housing co-op.
