💥BIG TIME HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT TIME. This one’s personal. Four neighbors. One artist’s work Ive been quietly collecting. All five people who make this place — and this market — worth the drive. @coldpicnic — Phoebe and Peter are two of our favorite @greatwesterncatskills artists. When you were a kid, imagination had no ceiling. These two never let it get one. Their textiles are playful, alive, and elegant in a way that feels almost impossible to pull off. Dreams you can make true in your home. @magpies_on_pinkstreet — Maggie has been a cornerstone of the Catskills culinary community for nearly a decade. Someone once said she bakes like a 6 year old kid who happens to be a professional baker. Filled with everything joyful, and perfectly executed! We’ve never heard anything more accurate. Come eat a pie. @clayground_catskills — Camille Callahan has built something intentional on Main Street in Andes. A collective studio, a gathering place, a home for people who make things together with the earth and their hands. Find pieces from Camille and her claymates at the market — every one feels like community. Like here. We’re especially excited for C’s ceramic horses. @fernandoartwork — Fernando works in clay the way some people work in memory. Sculpture, collage, found object, handbuilding — every piece one of a kind. If you’re a collector, you know when you know. Grab something before he ends up in a museum. @dear.native.grapes — Deanna and Alfie are bringing back America’s forgotten heritage grapes. Effervescent, juicy, refreshing. Made with nothing added, nothing taken away. If you’re into biodynamic wine, these are your people. And they’re great people too! Come taste a comeback story! OH-BOY MARKET 🌿 July 3&4 in @AndesNewYork at @WAYSIDE.CIDER

If drama without style is just noise, I must add that beauty without ugliness is just decoration. Our "It Should be More Trashy" rug in Sabrina and Glen's marvelous home. This collection was inspired by Dario Argento's trashy treasure Profondo Rosso (scroll for the screenshot which inspired this rug's title)

Taurus season (April 20-May 20) represents growth, the filling of the world with new life. Perhaps because of this, Taureans are known to be drawn to beauty and plenty. Taureans are said to be patient as well, and I banked on this when setting out to glue umpteen-thousand lemon colored rhinestones to our paper mache bulls head.

This year marks the 16th year off Cold Picnic, and to celebrate, we are offering 16% off sitewide - no exclusions - with code SWEET16 through Wednesday. The first slide is a photo of the two of us 16 years ago. Slides 2-8 are a compilation of highlights from the sale which somehow relate to the number 16. Forcing a connection between the number 16 and a handful of home goods broke our brains (in a good way?)

It’s the start of another zodiac year. You may take stock in astrological charts, you may not. And yet humans have embraced the zodiac for thousand of years, ever since Babylonians first established the signs. The study of astrology is at once grandiose and humble - an attempt to orient ourselves with our universe and connect with the creatures inhabiting it alongside us. Roughly translated from Ancient Greek, zodiac means “little circle of animals”, we are giddy about introducing our newest menagerie of bathmats. Let us start with Aries. This egg only comes hard-boiled

Doves is a relative newcomer to our bathmat lineup, but it already feels feels like a classic. Or at least like it’s been around since 1987. Peter says this shoot was a stretch, but who can resist a bit of 1980’s Corey?

For the first time in years, one of all our time favorite rugs "The Aviary, Early Spring" is back in stock, just in time for the real world's early spring. The Aviary rug was the impetus for our mania for print matching, and became a quilt, wallpaper, curtains and upholstery. Its design and application were inspired by the happiness we found in two places in Corona, Queens Slide 4: an image by Chris Mottalini from the wonderful 2020 @nytimes profile by M.H. Miller of Louis Armstrong’s exuberantly appointed home Slides 5-6: family outings to the spectacular Buckminster Fuller-designed geodesic dome, which houses the Queens Zoo's aviary
