One of our earliest projects at IBUKI was Silentium. We shot it guerrilla-style over three days, making use of city streets, a national park, and calling in a lot of favours. It's an experimental short about learning to reconcile the chaos and calm that continually lives in the silence surrounding us. The Full Film is available to watch on Film Shortage! New work ✨ I finally got to work with my good friend @armansaturday for @heinz ! Super happy with how this project turned out. We spent 2.5 weeks worth of pre-production, with multiple test days and location scouts! One of the biggest challenges about this was project was the weather. It’s always tough to not be in control of the weather and we originally intended to shoot on a sunny day but due to deadlines, we had to shoot with what we’ve got but nonetheless, I’m happy with what we were able to capture! Another challenge we ran into involved technical issues. We used the Movi Pro w/ the Alexa Mini and the Sony FX3 for the POV shots and since we had to cover a lot in one day, changing set ups proved to be very challenging but shoutout to my stellar 1st AC @cam_moff who killed it! The last challenge was physical, and man do I need to work out. I was running the gimbal set up with a readyrig and unfortunately some of the shots we need to cover wouldn’t work with the readyrig, so I had to go handheld and my body was crying. As much as the readyrig helped in some of the shots, I wished I made a better decision to use an Easyrig Vario 5 w/ the Gimbal attachment. Gear does that matter after all haha Overall, I am super happy with what we were able to achieve, and although, I know that I could’ve done better on my end, I learned a lot from this experience and will take that with me to get better for next time 💕 Also, shoutout to @armansaturday for the additional cinematography when I was gone overseas!!
