Lots of fun coming up with a slice-of-life no-look look to complement the Oslo scenery. Premiered at Locarno last year and has been doing the rounds at the festival circuit since.

‘Make It Suprême’ for Kronenbourg 1664 - Breakdown An absolute dream project to be asked to colour. It didn’t end up getting much love around the craft awards but is the proudest I’ve been of a grade for a while so am sharing the little breakdown I put together for its submissions; from the source R3D plates through to the final image. Hopefully it showcases how gorgeously the shots were designed and lit by @cprinz__ and @mauro.chiarello ; could not have been more beautiful images to work with. My rationale was to imagine how the spot would look if you were to be standing in front of it hanging in a gallery, then simulate the physical attributes an oil painting would have in that scenario; i.e. softer and diffused highlights and a detailed but rolled off black. The longer I’ve done the job the less I’ve relied on keys and masks, but we had the luxury of time on this one so was able to go a little nuts dodging and burning to try keep the focus on our hero amongst all that was going on around him.
