We are thrilled to officially be presenting “One Day This Kid” For Your Consideration for Best Live Action Short 🎞️💜 ^ This is a sentence that we hoped to be able to say one day…and believe it or not, one day is actually here. It’ll take a herculean effort because we are definitely the underdogs! That being said, with our World Premiere at @tiff_net and 60+ global festival screenings, winning the @sxsw Jury Prize, the 2025 @irisprize , and 21 other awards, @One_Day_This_Kid_Film has already punched way above its weight class and made a significant impact. Notably, it was also one of six films curated by legendary actor, Andrew Scott (Fleabag, All Of Us Strangers), as part of the “unhidden” gems cohort at SXSW, in partnership with @redbreastirishwhiskey 🥃 We are extremely proud of director @heyitsalexfarah , producer @joaquinc , cinematographer @farhadghaderi_ , production designer @adriana.marchand , lead actor @masseyahmar , and the rest of the incredibly magical cast & crew for making a powerful film that audiences worldwide are deeply resonating with. It truly has been an honour to be involved every step of the way, from pre-production through now 🥰 One Day This Kid is now streaming on @cravecanada and soon-to-be on @criterioncollection 🙏 It tells the story of a young queer Afghan boy coming of age under the weight of his father’s expectations, in an environment that discourages self-expression. This marks an exciting moment to spotlight the creative strength of our local community on the world stage. Bathing in Your Light - written and performed by Sophia Danai @sophiadanai I’m so happy to finally share this project, and grateful for the years of friendship and collaboration I’ve had with Sophia. With this video, it was my goal to create a gentle, swaying accompaniment to a song that’s about cultivating love for yourself, then watching how that love radiates and grows outward into your relationships, families and communities.
