With femininity as her playground, @hallehirota blends the erotic and erudite. Her latest exhibition, “Between The Sheets” captures the utility of the sensual with its textile focus.
We caught up with Halle last November at her exhibit, and chatted about stripping, shooting and censorship.

By Any Means is Jamal Omar’s directorial debut, written and directed by the Toronto-based photographer and filmmaker. A first-generation Somali Canadian raised in Jane & Finch, Jamal’s work is deeply shaped by lived experience and a sensitivity to how places and people are often misunderstood before they’re truly seen. This film is a defining extension of his practice.
Set in Jane & Finch, By Any Means explores ambition, responsibility, and the pressure that comes with wanting more. The story follows characters navigating expectations, growth, and the uncertainty of chasing their dreams while staying true to themselves. Grounded in observation, the film balances humour, tension, and vulnerability, creating a narrative that feels lived-in, familiar, and emotionally present.
Made with care and intention, By Any Means was supported by the City of Toronto Cultural Hotspot and produced by Underscore Studios. The process was deeply collaborative and would not have been possible without the support of so many people. We hope the film inspires young filmmakers to dream big and create their own opportunities.
Please join us on February 5th for an evening filled with art, laughter, and popcorn.
We hope to see you there! TICKETS IN BIO

In his acting debut, we couldn’t have asked for a more dedicated, eager to learn, down to earth individual. Grateful to have him on this journey.
