Alright the inspo movie i picked was “Blue Ruin” written and directed by cinematographer and director Jeremy Saulnier.
I love this movie so much because of its use of colour and lack of dialogue. It draws the viewer in by utilizing the moody blue green palette and consistent, subtle color cues to maintain its tense, thriller aesthetic. Blue hues or objects appear in nearly every shot to represent the protagonist’s desolate, trapped state. The color emphasizes the protagonist’s ghostly, isolated life and the “ruinous” theme.
The film’s visual style effectively uses a restricted, muted color palette to focus on the character’s, and the, narrative’s, grim reality and the, often violent, nature of revenge.
