hey everyone,
just dropping in to say thanks to everyone who’s had a chance to listen to “lofi at lowlands 三” and/or “lofi at lowlands 四,” which released in march and april, respectively. it was a bit hectic trying to get through all this material and get it ready in time before leaving for europe (march) and asia (late april), but i’m glad to have had the pressure to see these projects through till their release and to share the amazing contributions of walter and kayvon in their myriad layers of sound.
if you haven’t had a chance to listen, these albums and the preceding first and second volumes are all on bandcamp & streaming everywhere in the universe (to my knowledge). i am still preparing even more music for release this year (quartet music in the fall as well as the final lofi at lowlands), but just wanted to thank you all again for checking out my music and continuing to listen and support.
i’ve just finished my first week in hangzhou, china, so i’ve got 3 more weeks to go before heading to seoul for some gigs with dabin and seajun, which i eagerly await. see you all back in the city in june!
Album Pre-release gig! ‘Emissary’ is out May 29 on Endectomorph Music, but have a release show on the 14th at Nublu classic! CDs will be available and excited to have the album out in the world and be joined by some of my favorites for a big night of guitar! Listen to the singles from links in my bio for a taste test.
My album “Migration Tales” is one year old! Last year (on friday April 18th) we gathered and celebrated the release at Bar Bayeux, with my fabulous band, surrounded by friends, old and new.
Here Tanuki on a walk with their pups finds some earphones and discovers my music… be like Tanuki and go to your favorite streaming platform (bandcamp of course!) or buy a cd 💿 to listen to “Migration Tales” 🤓.

“lofi at lowlands 四” is out today.
while this was initially conceived as a relatively straightforward live recording—a palette cleanser compared to the editing-heavy previous volumes—the album evolved after some discussion with my good friend jacob shulman. the album’s closer, “forest corridors iv,” is the set’s climax, splicing three different live performances with overdubs to create a feeling of vastness and blurriness—sort of an echo effect. jacob put it best when he recommended that that i “lean into the sound being very big and wide and wagnerian like a whole row of cats coming at you at once ” (phalanx).
