Album Pre-release gig! ‘Emissary’ is out May 29 on Endectomorph Music, but have a release show on the 14th at Nublu classic! CDs will be available and excited to have the album out in the world and be joined by some of my favorites for a big night of guitar! Listen to the singles from links in my bio for a taste test.
“lofi at lowlands 四” is out today.
while this was initially conceived as a relatively straightforward live recording—a palette cleanser compared to the editing-heavy previous volumes—the album evolved after some discussion with my good friend jacob shulman. the album’s closer, “forest corridors iv,” is the set’s climax, splicing three different live performances with overdubs to create a feeling of vastness and blurriness—sort of an echo effect. jacob put it best when he recommended that that i “lean into the sound being very big and wide and wagnerian like a whole row of cats coming at you at once ” (phalanx).
big thanks to all who made this release possible!

“forest corridors iii (rhythm interlude)” features double-tracked bass by walter with kayvon gordon, a purely rhythm section meditation between the third and fourth movements.
the full record is out tomorrow.
i composed the music on “lofi at lowlands 四” in early 2024 while immersing myself in haydn and beethoven piano sonatas. the four “forest corridors” pieces on the record were originally conceived for piano, but realized through the saxophone trio format.
“forest corridors iii” offers a slow, brooding meditation inspired by robert schumann’s early piano masterpiece “des abends.”
the new album is out this friday, april 17, 2026.
“forest corridors ii” introduces a swinging 5/4 meter with pronounced bass counterpoint. the solo section is very brief and is really just a trio improvisation or embellishment over written material, just as most of the record is mostly notated.
“lofi at lowlands 四” releases friday, april 17, 2026.
the fourth volume of my series “lofi at lowlands” releases this friday, april 17, 2026.
I wanted this fourth installment to be more lyrical and narratively-driven in terms of melody, harmony, and development. while the other records bordered on noise at times, this one uses studio techniques mostly to amplify the musical content, which is relatively classical, meaning tonal in a western classical sense.
the opening track, “forest corridors I,” contains no saxophone improvisation whatsoever, presenting purely composed material loosely following a sonata form.
