#100daysofpractice day 85. Learning a new tune by Gilad Hekselman, duo, on Fender Rhodes.
I’ve known @ghex for a long time, and he’s one of my favorite musicians in New York, always full of soul and poetry. When we got together today, he got out a new composition for us to play, a beauty temporarily named Wayne Bossa, which he’ll be playing at @vanguardjazz in mid-April.
The Fender Rhodes I’m playing here belonged to my grandfather. It’s an early model with wood, felt-wrapped piano hammers — the later models had hammers made of neoprene. Always feels special to play it.
Check out Gilad’s Patreon, where he teaches guitar.
