A curious appetite 🍽️ I loved my chat with @dr_alessandra_pino a couple months ago. Right before filming seemed come to a halt here in the UK! Alessandra and I first spoke when she found out I did the food on The Radley’s, a fun vampire movie she loved. We stayed in contact ever since, I am now a big fan of @aisforapplepod_ and @fearfeasts + We have a great conversation discussing the link between fashion and food, the therapeutic benefits of pie making and baking, behind the scenes on set, and more. She is incredibly multi talented, having worked with Michelin starred chefs previously, co-authored a cookbook @agothiccookbook and is a very accomplished food historian. I hope you listen. Let us know if you do. ✨Pics are the 3 massive cakes I made for The Radley’s on a very hot summer weekend stressing that they would not transport easily but all was fine in end. Have a listen 🎧 , will link in stories. Hope we all get back to work soon ✨ #foodonfilm #filmfood #foodprops #filmfood #acuriousappetite

Leftover pie 🥧 Food drop off done, English GCSE started and a realisation I had this leftover from a creative session with @nicbrittin the other day. A perfect Spring evening and perfect light! Recipe by pie king @chefcalum . Mac & cheese with a couple cheese varieties + chopped sundried tomatoes. Hit all around. Happy Monday ☀️ #piepiepie #piemaking #eatpie #pie #pies

Veg 🥬Forward After buying this stunning asparagus from @wild_country_organics on Sunday I knew the recipe I wanted to make. I love a mix of hi - lo. Meaning I buy plenty of inexpensive grains & beans but add in bits of fresh seasonal produce. The white beans I soaked then pressure cooked, I did a slightly calamitous video on preparing many things at once TBC….but they came out almost perfect so this was such a great way to enjoy them. The book I cooked it from is Veg Forward by @susanspungen . I often don’t cook from books as I get overwhelmed by ingredient lists but these are produce led easy ingredient type recipes you will want to make, and obviously beautifully styled. Super inspiring, thank you Susan! 🍋 #vegforward #eattheseason #seasonalcooking #seasonality #onmytable

NYC 🍎 I just got back to London after a very long absence from New York. It was like one massive NY hug. It is the city I have lived in the longest in the US (90’s then 2004-2014 Henry was born there!) and have no idea why I haven’t been back. So much fun, my only regret it that I couldn’t see everyone I wanted to. 1: One of the views from @saga_nyc , I have never seen anything quite like it. Thank you chef @anushanasharma for the tour! 2: The @cherrybombe Jubilee & the great connector of women in food @kerrybombe ! Fantastic event and was so happy to finally meet Christine Tobin @tobinfood in person ⭐️ 3. After staying out in my old neighbourhood: Greenpoint this was the ride in to the city ❣️ 4. I was so glad I got a DM from Tamara @vanalstkitchen & @gretaedana , we got to meet at my favourite place @dinernyc where Greta previously worked! 5. Such a great spot amongst the buildings @themuseumofmodernart thank you @genevievemoore . 6. 90s flashback with my friends @charmainesburden at @hellotailorus and @peterdavisnyc . On the 90s diet of plenty of cigs 7. A real honor to meet @susanspungen and brought back a copy of her gorgeous book! 8. A NY slice of heaven highly recommended @lucia.pizza , thank you @caseystenger ! 9. I met the lovely @anushanasharma at @cherrybombe jubilee. She is the talented executive pastry chef of @crownshynyc @saga_nyc & @overstory . I was lucky to taste her beautiful work, hear her incredible story and was brought on a tour. Thank you Anushana❣️ 10. More beautiful food by @chefjassimransingh at @crownshynyc 11. My incredibly talented and very stylish friend Charmaine has opened an incredible new mobile tailoring service @hellotailorus The most beautiful pieces were transformed, so stunning! Can’t wait to see what else is coming. 12. Soho on a very beautiful Spring day 🌷 13. Very pleased with my $10 sunglasses 😎 , the only NY bargain to be had 14. Me & Peanut in the 90s. I only ever took him to 1 nightclub, promise! 15. Early morning departure from JFK 16. Marlow and Sons chocolate caramel tarte ⭐️ With an upcoming NY visit coming up, this one was on my mind. One of those food memories that will never fade. At almost 9 months pregnant and tired of pricking my fingers 7 times a day, thank you gestational diabetes 😘….I called my sister. ‘All I really want is just a slice of @marlowandsons chocolate caramel tarte’, she said go on you are almost cooked, almost there and it won’t change anything at this point. Heaven, it was a deep craving very much fulfilled and I went in to labour a couple days after. Haven’t made it since. I am posting the recipe below with few notes and translations for UK/EU bakers✨ ❤️ Based on recipe by @saveurmag Chocolate Caramel Tarte Ingredients Crust 1½ cups (180 g) flour ¼ cup + 1 tbsp cocoa powder (32 g) ¼ tsp salt 10 tbsp (142 g) unsalted butter, softened ½ cup + 2 tbsp icing sugar (75 g) 2 egg yolks (room temp) ½ tsp vanilla extract Caramel 1½ cups (300 g) sugar 3 tbsp light corn syrup (or glucose) ¼ tsp salt 6 tbsp (85 g) butter 6 tbsp (88 ml) double cream 1 tbsp crème fraîche Ganache ½ cup (118 ml) double cream 113 g bittersweet chocolate, chopped Sea salt (for garnish) Directions 1. Make the crust Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Mix flour, cocoa, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and vanilla, then mix in dry ingredients. Press dough into a 9-inch tart pan. Chill for 30 minutes. Prick with a fork and bake for about 20 minutes until set. Cool completely. 2. Make the caramel In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, salt, and 6 tbsp water. Bring to a boil without stirring until it reaches a deep amber (around 170°C / 340°F). Remove from heat and whisk in butter, cream, and crème fraîche (it will bubble). Stir until smooth. Pour into the cooled crust and refrigerate 4–5 hours until firm. 3. Make the ganache Heat cream until just boiling. Pour over chopped chocolate, let sit 1 minute, then stir until smooth. Pour over the caramel layer and chill another 4–5 hours until set. 4. Serve Sprinkle with sea salt, slice, and serve chilled.

Interview 🎤 with @asimakis for @avenueinsider ✨ So excited to see my interview with Asimakis Chaniotis. I met Asimakis not long after moving to London and at the very beginning of my career in food. I was very lucky to spend time in his kitchen again! He is such a talent and a force so when my friend @peterdavisnyc asked me to do something for Avenue I knew it had to be on Asimakis new place @myrtoslondon . Link in bio to the interview and photos above. Let me know what you think. More to come! #londonfoodscene #londonrestaurants #peterdavis #london #londoneats

Butternut ginger soup 🥣 This year I will like soup. The 90’s remnants of diet hell will be erased from my memory 🤓 So here is my first attempt, and I must say it was delicious plus it ticked a few boxes I wanted it to! Protein + fiber + loads of flavour + filling + warming and easy. I have had a cold all week and after a friend recommended garlic & ginger I thought this may work both of those in their nicely. This will also be the first of many @citizensofsoil recipes as they kindly sent me their gorgeous extra virgin olive oils. This one was ‘Delicate Portugal’ from Northern Portugal. Delicious, and a perfect combination with the soup. Thank you ❣️ Butternut ginger orange soup 🥣 • start with a stock: I boiled garlic, plenty of ginger and a chopped onion with sea salt and vegetable stock for about 30 minutes • I then added a large coffee cup of red split lentils, half the butternut squash with skin, some @clearspringuk silken tofu, some extra stock, added the lid and cooked for 25 minutes • I also roasted a couple cloves if garlic with the rest of the butternut for about the same time 25 minutes at 190c with a drizzle of olive oil and sea salt • Remove the soup and the roasted vegetables at the same time and blend with a stick blender until smooth adding any extra stock until you are happy with the consistency. • a splash of rice wine vinegar and half a juiced orange will brighten it up and give a sweet zing • sprinkle with hemp seeds and drizzle with @citizensofsoil extra virgin olive oil #extravirginoliveoil #citizensofsoil #gifted #homecooking #soup

Pistachio cups ⭐️ Made these the other to use up various packs of pistachios (slivers, powder, and whole nuts from recent jobs). I didn’t want to waste them and pistachios are my favourite. So if you feel slightly overwhelmed with choice of Christmas cookies this year try a little no bake treat. I made this pistachio paste in a little grinder attachment, it is Ninja blender/food processor. Blender isn’t that great but the baby grinder is! See pics You could probably do it in a coffee grinder it’s a small amount, just add nuts sea salt and keep blending! Scrape sides as you go. I melted 80 gr @lindtuk dark chocolate and 80 gr @lindtuk dark chocolate with sea salt. Poured chocolate in to little silicone cups, tapped flat froze 5 minutes. Then added the paste more chocolate plus slivers. Done about 15 minutes total! Thought they turned out well and very delicious way healthier and cheaper than Dubai chocolate 🍫 #pistachiolovers #pistachiodessert #pistachiochocolate #homemadefoodswithlove❤️ #darkchocolateseasalt
