In November of 2023 I hosted a party for all of the props I had worked with. The actors were striking and no one had worked in awhile- morale needed boating.
@maxsherwood told me about a project he was going to do in the spring- hopefully the strike would be over by then. He said I would love it- his friend
@zachbaylin and
@hansomdeacons had written a script about a restaurant and brothers and crime and there would be a lot of food. Fast forward to March of 2024 when the call came in that they wanted to talk to us about food styling on Gary The Dog, aka Black Rabbit. We ended up cooking a bunch of dishes that ended up making up a bunch of the menu we created, got hired, convinced
@jasonbateman that yes, a chicken pot pie with a chicken foot sticking up out of it DID belong on the menu, and roped in
@feedmepastry to be our pastry chef. We created the bar menu, the restaurant menu, the cocktail menu and the wine list. It was a total dream.
The restaurant felt REAL. A place. Lived in. Having that as a backdrop to work in was a luxury. This crew was the MOST talented and fun. The producers gave us everything we needed to really do our jobs. We wanted for nothing. What a ride. Thank you so much
