Last weekend was the return of The fabulous Hama Hama Oyster Rama! Many of you know how much I love this place, these people, of course their oysters so it was super exciting to spend the sunny weekend celebrating the PNW! Thank you @jeremy_sewall for bringing my winnings from our Super Bowl bet to share with us all, those lobsters are pretty tasty but not quite like our Dungeness crabs. 🦀 🤣 Can’t wait for next year! Happy 10th anniversary trip @oystermandan . We celebrated our anniversary many months late with a trip to Italy. We meet up with friends in Rome, cheering on @juancassalett running the Rome marathon, walked all over that magnificent city and of course ate tons of delicious food. We arrived in what might have been the last day of puntarelle season, thankfully we were able to have some. ☺️ We then went south to visit two new regions to us, Puglia & Basilicata. The highlight was a really beautiful, delicious and inspiring workshop with @everyoneatthetable If you’re looking for a cooking workshop in Puglia this is the one. The recipes are approachable, hyper traditional and full of stories about Altamura. The next bit of the trip we had pretty rotten weather. Loads of rain and very cold. Thankfully there was more wonderful food & wine, great company with @larah2 , @davidhamilton9424 & bonus vacation animals. We love you Italy. Also very happy to be home. 💙💚 1- @oystermandan & me at lunch @tavernadelportotricase 2- the most delicious artichoke @stecca_roma . 3- we made orecchiette with @everyoneatthetable 4- the always stunning kitchen of @julieannmarr & @francesco_creanza 5- hanging tomatoes at a sweet produce store in Altamura 6- I love a pink building… in Matera 7- the perfect picnic on The warm day with @everyoneatthetable 8- we learned how to make suspended orange digestif 9- favorite meal @masseriamoroseta Loved the anchovies in chive oil and all the spring flowers. 10- incredible seafood feast @ristorantedatuccino Not shown was the deep fried sea bass. Thanks @katieparla for the recommendation. 11- same as 10 💙 12- a visit to Grottaglie, a famous town of ceramic artisans 13- always look up. The prettiest church in Polignano Al Mare (Church of Saint Mary of Assumption) 14- @oystermandan & Lulu 15- the most delicious mozzarella made by Stella @caseificiodicecca 16- hanging Caciocavallo @caseificiodicecca 17- beautiful Lecce 18- Italy fries food the best IMO! 19- like I said on no. 13 the Church of Saint Charles designed by Francesco Borromini - with @understandingrome 20- favorite pasta & restaurant @armandoalpantheon

I’ve been wanting to visit this corner of Italy for many years. Finally making it to Altamura for a workshop @everyoneatthetable has been truly wonderful. I fell in love with Italy in 1994. Every time I return it teaches and or reminds me about living in ways that I often overlook in my daily life. I’m so grateful for these lessons. The importance of friendship. New and old. Traditions in food… It made me so happy to see the bowl of nuts on the table. Put out by @julieannmarr & @francesco_creanza for Babbo (and us) to enjoy after lunch. Something my mom @shirlee.erickson has always done for us. @caseificiostelladicecca Stella (and all that have come before) making the most incredible cheeses daily for her town and visitors to enjoy. Spring picnics with friends. Something we should all do more of, especially when it involves fried anchovies and big fluffy white dogs (I named him Leopoldo of course) that adopt us for the afternoon. Candlelight at breakfast. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you @francesco_creanza @julieannmarr @everyoneatthetable @oystermandan @larah2 @davidhamilton9424 AND Lula for perfect week. I loved every bit. 💚

Happy 1st birthday to these amazing kitties! Crostino (little toast)… not so little anymore and his protector Edison. We intended to only get Crostino the orange kitty but they were bonded and amazing together so of course we brought them both home. We highly recommend getting siblings or two cats whenever you go and ADOPT! So many amazing little creatures needing our love. We love them so much @lacyedwards & @scottdovetail !! Thanks for being such great caregivers! It made all the difference. XXOO

We’re back home from an amazing trip to NC to raise $$$ @trianglewinefood for @frankielemmonfoundation 💚 It was so wonderful to see these bbq loving folks fall in love with @meanseattle MEAN Sandwich!! Best of all getting to work along side friends from around the country coming together for these amazing kids. Thank you @ashley_christensen for hosting all of us again. Your team was fantastic! AND thank you to our favorite oysters farmers @hamahamaoysters @shinydimesoysters for donating the oysters! 🦪 delicious as always! Big hugs and thanks to @jillmathias & @juancassalett for coming up from Charleston to cook along side us. Best team ever! Well done Mr Dan! Love you.
