A special moment for our Auckland studio. Over three years since establishing our presence in Aotearoa, we’ve now opened our permanent home – a milestone shaped by the team and the community that continues to support the studio. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this next chapter for COX in Aotearoa. 📷Photographer: dstgeorgephoto

A new sports centre just opened in West Ryde 👀 The brand new Bennelong Sports Centre includes a 5,000sqm indoor courts facility with 4 multi-purpose courts, and a whopping 29 outdoor netball courts. Designed by @coxarchitecture and delivered by School Infrastructure, the precinct will be operated by @the.ynsw so that the broader community can benefit from it. This facility was a key case study in our new sports issues report, showing the potential for addressing Sydney’s shortfall of sporting facilities. Read about it at the link in our bio.

When did you first feel a sense of belonging? Most of us can’t recall a distinct memory, but for many, it’s shaped through early childhood interactions. So how do you thoughtfully design for a child’s first sense of belonging? At St Luke’s Early Learning Community, COX worked closely with the Anglican Diocese of Canberra & Goulburn to create a place shaped by connection, curiosity and community. From a central courtyard connecting two levels to play hubs designed for exploration, COX Senior Associate Belinda Barnes shares the thinking behind the design. 🔗 Read the ‘Behind the Design’ interview on our website at coxarchitecture.com.au Images courtesy of: The Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn and @monarch.building 📷 Photography: @mr_adam_mcgrath

@parklineplace has achieved a 6 Star Green Star Design & As Built v1.3 rating from @gbcaus , recognising world leadership in sustainable building design and construction. As Executive Architect, COX led the design development, coordination and delivery of this striking commercial tower that now rises above Sydney Metro’s Gadigal station. We worked in close collaboration with @fosterandpartners as Principal Architect, alongside ESD consultants @cundall_global , to translate design intent into a highly performative, buildable outcome within a tightly constrained urban environment. The fully electric building is net zero in operation, powered by renewable energy, and shaped by smart passive design, reduced embodied carbon and locally-sourced materials. Advanced indoor environmental quality monitoring, a digital twin model for real-time operational insight and a strong commitment to social sustainability place occupant wellbeing at the centre of the project. 📷 Photography: @aaronhargreaves_

When art, architecture and heritage meet, cultural life follows. We recently visited White Bay Power Station for a curatorial tour of the @biennalesydney . It’s a site we know well, having worked on it in various capacities over many years. We were delighted to revisit @tuanmami ’s work, developed during a week long residency in our studio through a series of community workshops and continuing to evolve as visitors contribute to it over time. We were also proud to see our design contribution come to life: the central entertainment area and community engagement hub, now actively supporting a rich program of events, gatherings and exchange. The Biennale of Sydney runs until 14 June 2026. More information at biennaleofsydney.art 📷 Photography: John Ferguson

This is where tomorrow’s players will train beside today’s cricketing heroes. Welcome to the headquarters of @cricketnsw – a home for elite performance and community cricket alike. We’ve recently completed stage two of this major infrastructure project at Sydney Olympic Park. Building on stage one, which delivered offices, high-performance training facilities and an indoor cricket centre, stage two adds a two-storey pavilion with change rooms, dugouts, meeting and function rooms, balcony viewing and a 100-seat grandstand, plus full capability for broadcast and night lighting. Cricket NSW is the new training base for the NSW Blues, NSW Breakers, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder, a space where professional players and community participants share the same worldclass environment. The facility is expected to host about 35,000 club and community players each year. Read more on our website at coxarchitecture.com 📷 @msphoto.au @sixersbbl , @sydneythunderbbl and @sydolympicpark

Brisbane’s Treasury Building is entering a new chapter as @griffithuniversity ’s CBD location from 2027. In collaboration with Griffith University, @fdc_group and heritage consultants, @lovellchen , COX is reimagining this landmark with care – preserving its historic character while adapting it for contemporary learning and connection. Centred around a restored courtyard and light-filled spaces, the design brings the old and new together to form a new legacy for the Treasury Building. Part of Griffith’s vision for its Brisbane City campus, the project will create a place where education, industry, government, and community meet in the heart of Brisbane. 🔗 Read more on our website at coxarchitecture.com.au

Stage one of the new @stromloforestanglicancollege is now complete, welcoming its first students for the 2026 school year. Designed by COX for the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, the new Early Education School is conceived as a ‘little temple’ that holds the western edge of the campus, nestled into the hill to create a strong connection to the surrounding neighbourhood. “Schools are about people relating to each other and the environment, which makes design authentic and organic to human behaviour,” says SFAC Principal, Andy Gordon. “It has been a pleasure to work in an environment where design ethos and pedagogy can each push each other over time - iterating with continual improvement,” says COX Associate Director, Gerard O’Connell. With Stage 2 (Primary School, Years 1–6) already under construction, the campus is taking shape as a community hub where education, connection, and sustainability come together. 🔗 Read more on our website at coxarchitecture.com.au 📷 Photography: @ash.stgeorge

Sydney’s ‘coolest’ neighbourhood, as decided by the global editors of @timeoutsydney , is being extended north towards the Burwood North metro station. @nswgov is exhibiting the draft proposal for the Burwood North Metro Rezoning to deliver more housing choices, through an urban design-led approach to planning for the 113ha precinct. Our team has provided the urban design framework for this connected and inclusive community. Some of the key features of the draft precinct proposal include: • up to 18,300 new homes, of which five to 10 per cent will be dedicated to affordable housing • better open spaces • new and improved local roads and active transport options, including walking and cycling connections Once completed, the station will allow residents to reach both the Sydney CBD and Parramatta in about 10 minutes. The proposal is on exhibition until 10 April. #COXArchitecture #CityShaping #ShapingSydney #UrbanDesign
