EHDC SHORTLIST |The New Footscray Hospital and The Sydney Children's Hospital Stage 1 & Minderoo Children's Comprehensive Cancer Centre have been shortlisted for the European Healthcare Design Awards 2026.
The New Footscray Hospital has been shortlisted in both the ‘large scale health infrastructure’ and ‘excellence in healthcare planning’ categories, while SCH+MCCCC has been shortlisted in both the ‘Design for health and life sciences’ and ‘Interiors and the arts’ categories.
We look forward to the London event this June, where the winners will be announced!

SYDNEY BUILD EXPO 2026 | We are excited to announce that Alex Lu, Associate at BLP, will be speaking on the construction panel at the Sydney build expo 2026.

AIDA SHORTLIST | The Bunjil Wellbeing Place has been shortlisted for the Australian Interior Design awards for the Public Design category.
The culturally safe, community focused health facility for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people integrates cultural identity, natural materiality and connection to Country into the interior, creating a welcoming environment for all.
Designed by BLP and @workshop_architecture ,
this is one of 17 shortlisted projects for the award, we are excited for results which will be published on the 12th of June.

SYDNEY BUILD EXPO 2026 | We are excited to announce that Harsha Rajashekar, Associate and Registered Project Architect (ARB-NSW-12526) at BLP, and Ryan Graul, Associate and Registered Project Architect (ARB-NSW-12957) at BLP, will be speaking at the Sydney Build 2026 expo!
Harsha will be speaking in the “From Mentor to Mentee: The Transformative Impact of Mentorship” panel, and Ryan in the “Designing with Nature in Mind: The Biophilic Approach” panel.
With Ryan’s decade of experience delivering complex healthcare projects and Harsha’s background as student leader at BLP, academic tutor at UTS and a member of Australian Design Review’s 30 Under 30 cohort for 2024, this is an amazing opportunity to hear them share their insight on user engagement and people centred design.
The event will be held at the ICC Sydney, starting at 11am on the 29th of April for Harsha’s panel, and 10am on the 30th of April for Ryan’s panel. Otherwise, register for free and join the sessions on the Sydney build expo website.

EDUCATIONAL ARCHITECTURE JUROR | Liam Blanc, Graduate of Architecture at BLP has been nominated as a Graduate Juror for this year's architecture awards in Victoria! Liam will be on the Jury for the Educational Architecture category, one of 10 categories that allows direct submissions.
The architecture awards program strives to recognise architects and others for achievements, develop a public awareness for the importance of architecture, and encourage architects to strive for excellence.

This $1.5B project—delivered by the @plenarygroup -led Plenary Health consortium with @vidahealth , @westernhealthau and @victoriauniversity —was designed by the amazing teams at @billardleece@coxarchitecture and @tractconsultants .
It’s a world‑class space created for the growing communities of Melbourne’s west.
When fully up and running, the new hospital will offer:
• 500+ inpatient beds
• A bigger, better Emergency Department
• Enhanced women’s, children’s & specialist care
• Modern mental health, drug & alcohol, and subacute facilities
• State‑of‑the‑art surgical and clinical spaces
• Spaces for teaching, training & research
• Easier access, parking and transport options
With its connection to Victoria University’s Footscray Park campus, the whole precinct becomes a vibrant hub for health, education and research.

BLP & LSc2 | BLP is excited to announce that our BLP Asia studio is joining forces with Victor de Baets of LSc2 (Life Sciences Consulting Collaborative) to offer our expertise to the APAC Life Sciences sector, supporting Dev Bagga from our Singapore base.
Together, we bring strong capability in front-end project services – from feasibility studies and master planning to early-stage concept design – tailored for life science facilities.
Victor and BLP have a long history in designing and developing life sciences projects, most recently working together on CSL Behring’s “Project Aurora” in Melbourne – recognised as the 2025 ISPE Facility of the Year Award – Overall Winner.
