Taking over @maxibonnnnnnn ’s Eclectic Blends show this month is @booleanmodifier . mchi has been curating his project cloudburst, a series focusing on the hazier side of sound complimented perfectly with visuals he has made. We’re firmly in Season 5 (The Rise of A.rtistic I.intelligence) @curzonclevedon … My highlights so far - sharing space, stage and screen time with @misanharriman and @andymsee for Shoot The People (watch this space on that one;-) listening and learning with the incredible team behind @holloway_film + @thenelsontrust @changingtunes @flygirlfoundation_cic watching to @minima_silentfilmscores whose expert musicianship with live film scores always fills my heart and ears Riefenstahl- the antonym to Misan Harriman’s work - starting the season with a question as to the role of an artist in society and where that responsibility lies, oof. hearing the scores of knitters and stitchers loving the new strand called Purl & Seam that’s invited them in to craft while watching some classic fem-heavy faves - Thelma and Louise / Fried Green Tomatoes and next up is Muriel’s Wedding STILL TO COME - super excited for… The Salt of the Earth (tonight) which details the work and life of #sebastiaosalgado - I saw an exhibition of his work as a young photography student and the scale and reality of existence hit me like a punch to the guts Cornetto Trilogy this Sat 8 Nov - Shaun of the Dead / Hot Fuzz / World’s End + madness jump up afterparty with @dazedmuzic - dress up mayhem Power Station - 13 Nov. If you’re passionate about community and grass roots change, plus the role of creatives in thinking outside the box to get results, then this is for you ! Until The Sea - 16 Nov. Overlapping themes of cold water swimming, trauma therapy, immigration - the charity @reclaimthesea are inspiring and I can’t wait to champion these stories @josielong comes back to our stage on 20th Nov. She was bloody lovely and also bloody hilarious 2 years ago, we’re excited to have her back YARA & DAVINA on Sun 23rd - I want everyone to come, more on this soon. Get tickets!!! TBT our small gathering to celebrate the launch of the platform last month @shai.space !! Thank you to those who came through and brought their wonderful selves. So often we are bombarded by images of high energy, high hype events and entertainment that it’s easy to forget that sometimes small gatherings where we can move at a slower pace, relax, meet/talk to new people whilst still authentically expressing ourselves are needed - DESPERATELY. Times where we can be more thoughtful, and connect on a deeper level, share ideas and unite with those around us are vital <^*^<. ESPECIALLY RIGHT NOW <^*^<. We’ve found that spaces like @shai.space are so important for giving us room to do our thing at a smaller, more tangible local level.
